I'M GOING CRAZY!!!

Thank you again. I really appreciate your support! I really don't have anyone not on this chat site that I can talk to when going through withdrawl or any type of quitting drama. My mom quit cold turkey 20+ years ago. She says that its all in my head (because she really didn't have much issue quitting). My husband is a casual smoker. He can take it or leave it (which I have never been able to figure that one out...very bizarre!). So he really is no help. He says its all in my head too and if I really wanted to quit there should be no issue and to stop making something outta nothing. So when I have issues or withdrawl drama, I can't talk to anyone really, I just lock myself in my bedroom until I'm not a queen b*#ch no more... Yes, live and learn. Don't waste your energy on beating yourself up. Realize you don't like how it made you feel, and move on. Many people who have used the patch have said doing the full course of treatment worked best for them. We'll have a party when you are ready to "go naked" My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 229 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,160 Amount Saved: $1,557.20 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 23 Mins: 21 Seconds: 21

I playing it safe and am wearing the patch. I was foolish to think I would be able to go without it as quickly as I did. Penn was right the other day when he suggested I go through the entire 8 week process as it directs. Looking back, I think if I had my patch on, I really don't think I would have given in. Live and learn I suppose. I just makes me angry thinking about being so weak and giving in the way I did....UGH. My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 180 Amount Saved: $34.20 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 27 Seconds: 16

Many many people have slipped and then quit successfully. I don't know about what they went through again in terms of withdrawals. Hopefully someone will be around shortly to answer that question. Are you wearing a patch now, or did you decide to go without one? I got it from my neighbors. They were out on their patio and joined them. It didn't help that they smoked the same type as I did. I know it was a stupid thing to do. But I realized that and also realized that old habits die hard. I just need to stay as focused as possible and get through it. Have you heard of anyone else that had slipped and gone back to quitting? Did they go through hell week again? ldyexec, Glad you're refocused. Where'd you get the cig? Learn from every slip. Figure out what the trigger was and make a plan for the next time you face something similar. If it was a fight with your husband, realize that smoking doesn't change anything, it's just what you're used to doing instead of dealing with whatever emotion you're feeling. My weekend was great. Never once thought of smoking a cigarette..that's how it is after a while :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 229 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,160 Amount Saved: $1,557.20 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 23 Mins: 19 Seconds: 14

Don't ask how my weekend went. You would be disappointed in me and I am very much ashamed. I even started crying during church when addictions were mentioned. I broke down and smoked. I couldn't help it. I was trying to go without the patch and was at the end of my rope and I think it was just an impulse habit. I got into a HUGE fight with my husband and just gave in.....HOWEVER, I am composed and back to quitting again. I have not had one all day and proud to attempt it again. I am very much wanting to quit, I just had a weak moment. I'm thinking though that those first 10 days are all going to be out the window and I'm gonna have to go back through hell week again. I hope not, but we will see. I have been okay so far today. It was a bit harder after lunch, but now that I'm back focused at my desk, its all good again. How was your weekend? I understand what you are feeling. But..but....you'll never know the otherside of the fence unless you hang in there. I nkow it's tough...but it is what it is. How can you really judge which way to go unless you know both sides. Cigarettes are always there to buy....but you owe it to yourself to really know the otherside. If you made 10 days you can do 100. Your worth it.
