I'M GOING CRAZY!!!

Over all, I've kept a positive attitude about the quit for the most part, there are moments when I just hate someone who is still smoking (my husband) and now the exhaustion is catching up with me and I'm tired of flipping out over the smallest things (my teenager is hardly speaking to me), and it all makes you want to just throw your hands up and give in. The mental battle is wearing me out......to the point I'll tell myself fine go smoke, then the other part of me says no, don't do it.....and it just goes back and forth like a tennis match, one reason debating another and I'm quite tired of watching it. Idyexec, Stay strong during your withdrawl symptoms, they will go away with time but if they continue to be really bad you can talk to a pharmisist about an NRT that can help you through them. Also, don't forget to focus on all of the positives of quitting and start thinking about ways that you can reward yourself for your two weeks. Brenna Bilingual Health Educator

Pen - almost forgot... There have been lots of complaints here recently about the lack of ability to change pics. One of the mods said it should be working. ??? Hi ladyexec! For some reason days 9 & 10 were really difficult for me...and I was exhausted from the constant 'quitting mode' I had been in. I'm pretty sure I laid in bed on day 9 and cried a little. The good news is I noticed right away that I had made it over a hump on day 11-ish. Pen and Aloha are both super smart about this stuff so listen close. Their advice is good advice. Also, I am wondering if you are on any NRTs. I think they are useful to some and not to others, but, the reason I ask is because I believe they can drag out the withdrawl process and make quitting quite miserable for some for longer than need be. By your 10th day, your body should be past the physical withdrawls though your mind still has a way to go to level out. I hope today is a better day for you. Keep posting! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,040 Amount Saved: $397.80 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 2 Mins: 32 Seconds: 59

LOL I tried bringing my mileage info up to reflect when I reply and its not giving me an option for it....UGH! Where am I messing up?

WOW, you sound just like me. The one thing I can identify with is the feeling of being just fed up! Really just fed up with feeling bad all the time. If you think being fed up at day 10 is bad, try fed up at day 278. Try 278 days of cravings and 278 nights of smoking dreams. That's fed up! It's fed up enough to make you scream. Get the patch, gum, lozenges, nasal spray something to take the edge off and make you feel less like your life is flying apart. I was actually able to maintain with NRT. The cravings were survivable most of the time. The rest of the time, it was white knuckle through it. 10 days is not a terribly long time, that's why the first two weeks are called hell week and heck week. You're still in the first two weeks. I don't know why you decided to quit smoking. I quit because I couldn't breathe. You are doing yourself a favor by quitting when you decide instead of when you have to cause you can't breathe anymore. Keeping positive is one thing, having patience is another. It will happen, or not, and if you really want to or need to quit smoking you will make it happen for you. Hey Aloha! Have you tried changing your pic lately? The system doesn't seem to want to know my requests - which is a shame 'cos I think you would all benefit! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1262 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,240 Amount Saved: 6,310.00 Life Gained: Days: 202 Hrs: 17 Mins: 29 Seconds: 22
