Btw Lolo & Kelly, You also made my day and it is only 7:49am! Lolo, just glad you popped by. The present you are planning to give yourself is a great present. If you need any help unwrapping it, you know where to come. Its an open ended offer ya know :) Kelly, you made my day just by popping in. So how was the coffee with Sparky? Is it true there are like 100 different ways to have coffee in the US? I am still trying to work out what a skinny latte is! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,925 Amount Saved: 491.40 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 15 Mins: 26 Seconds: 47

Unhooked, yes you remember well. My number 1 reason listed was control over my life instead of a drug controlling it for me. By making myself prisoner in my own home incase I might smoke actually really means that the drug has complete control over me and what I do by proxy. So I am about to change that. I already feel free-er in my mind. If I think about going round the shops :) smokefree then there is a possibility that I will never do it (just because my mind is used to playing on the doubt). So instead my plan is to just do it without thinking about it and then remember when I get back that I can now do the round the shops thing smokefree. Its kind of like the same way that I try to forget about the dentist (I am a huge dentophobe) until seconds before I have to go in. Otherwise I would pretend to be ill and pay for cancellation. :) As it is national hugs day today...Kelly, Sue, Unhooked, Lolo, Tresa and everyone..(SUPER BIG NATIONAL HUG DAY HUGS). p.s. I don't have a fun wall. It is a dodgy application that spams everyone and there is a big thread on it somewhere. Thats why I have it blocked. You'll also note there is no way to stop the spam even following the link. Sue, if you have been writing on a funwall it is why I cannot see it! :) :) ttfn Kev My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,925 Amount Saved: 491.40 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 15 Mins: 25 Seconds: 22

Lolo!! It's wonderful to see you, we miss you. Kev, what a busy weekend for you! Staying busy is good, it helps but, my Brit Quit buddy, BUT, you did not quit in order to hang up your entire life, did you? Didn't you quit to live FREE, to enjoy more VARIED interests? Please at least start to trust yourself & your strategies & your awesome quit! Really spend some time envisioning yourself going 'round to the shops (I love saying that, it's so British!), picture the route you would take & imagine the points at which you would smoke. Now imagine yourself NOT DOING IT. Imagine yourself crossing the street instead, or going inside somewhere that you can't smoke. Take your list of reasons with you & keep them where you used to keep your smokes (it worked for John). Come here & post a promise before you go out, I know it helps you to feel accountable. Please start living your life, Kev, because you aren't letting yourself have the entire gift of a smoke-free life! You can say if you smoke, oh well, look at the pretty butterflies, but Kev, you don't smoke (it's just not something non-smokers do), & butterflies are much more enjoyable without smoke drifting into your eyes. We know you can do it, your parents & quit buddy & co-workers all know, too. Would someone please tell Kev he's a non-smoker???? Keep up the awesome attitude, we are so proud of you & you have come such a long, long way. Let yourself feel the self-confidence we can all see, & take yourself the rest of the way. xxoo My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 176 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,520 Amount Saved: $1,936.00 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 16 Mins: 21 Seconds: 12

Ok, I think you know I have been saving these up. Here's a four day hit for you. :) Unknowingly I actually documented a change in attitude too! Hope you like. In the meantime. (HUGS) and have a good one. Friday 02 November 2007 ----------------------- I am only at work for half a day yippee! My dad takes me out to town to buy some books and some chocolate. I am always accompanied wherever I go and with good reason. I've ended quits within seconds of being out of sight before. Here are a list of kev excuses. What I say : 'Mum, I am just going to get some money out of the bank' What I really mean 'I don't have any cash and I will go to the bank machine..but on the way back I will buy some smokes' What I say : 'Dad, just popping out for a run' What I really mean : 'I will rush to the shops, buy cigarettes and then smoke as many as possible whilst walking fast'. Anyway, I have been accompanied for 114 days now :) I love this shopping centre. It is where I used to smoke ... so much. But now my nerves are jangling..so much. At least there is life out here. Just gotta stay close to dad. I know the routine now. Supposed to have a bath tonight to chill me out but forget. The chocolates go down a treat mind you. Saturday 03 November 2007 ------------------------- I had planned to go out and test my quit today. I would love to get back into a normal life instead of being a prisoner in my own house due to my nicotine addiction on the basis that I might smoke when out on my own. However, I am working today so no time for me to go anywhere on my own. My dad takes me out for lunch (fishcake and chips mmmm) and I take some photo's for Tresa. Sis arrives, it is her baby due day today. Babies are only ever on time 3% of the time apparently. Maybe I will remember to have that chillout bath tonight? Sunday 04 November 2007 ----------------------- I get up in a good mood. I had a nice patchouli bath last night. We have some stuff to get from the superstore today as my sister and hubby are coming for tea. We all pile into the car and I take my mums camera so I can take some photos of where I live. We have a lovely castle which we never visit right on our doorstep so decided to take photos of that. I've already gone for a power walk today so am quite alive. We reach the superstore and its really hectic, full of screaming children and mothers who don't seem to care what their child does. I feel the tension rise some further. By the time I get home I am a right mess. I just really want to smoke and get away from it all. I break down at the table and my parents start at each other again. This does not help me at all and I feel worse. I have some soup and leave to have yet another bath. This time doubling everything. I have a nap and when I get up, everyone is a bit happier. I go for another walk before my sis arrives. Sis arrives and I get happy. I get to show her how to use FB. Monday 05 November 2007 ----------------------- I'm still very worried when I get to work, and then I read a post on the SSC that makes me think about radically changing the way I think about my quit. Instead of making myself a prisoner in my own home I could just be out there enjoying life and seeing how it is. If I don't smoke then yippee, if I do then oh well, hey look at those beautiful butterflies. Life should be about having fun not adding more rules to my already rule-bound life. Thats my theory for today anyway. It could change tomorrow. I've decided to stick to it and will only change if someone can strongly convince me otherwise. I am on the earlies and I home now. Reading up on how to organise my music! Morning All, Sue, no problem, you deserve it! Unhooked, love ya right back! As I am working very hard on not repeating any of 'my quit is doomed' stories. :) I'll just say...115 days not smoked! I am hanging in there for the time being as a non smoker. It feels just plain strange not to do my emotional from the heart honest outpourings. I don't know what will get me first. Will I cave or will I explode in a ball of words? :) Anyway, just dropped by to say the SSC rocks! Thanks for all the support. Apologies if I have not rememebered your special occasion. I can't get to grips with the counting and calendar stuff. I am going to have to rely on Lainey and Mr Ed and all the other organised peeps to post in the stats forums. Going for yet another 'pound the junkie' walk in a bit so ttfn.
