thanks for the messages gang, it helps. I am having a tough time today, my wife's ashtrays and smoking is getting to me. It will be two weeks tomorrow, but it seems like my craving is getting worse sometimes. Even though I have been cold turkey for a week too - off of the aid. How did everyone keep going? Having to keep fighting for so long. When will it get to where I don't think about them or crave them? I glad of your success . It's great that cold turkey worked for you and others I've know, but I could never do it. The only way I've made it 3 weeks is with chantix after tying patches and welbutrin. I guess we all have slightly diferent roads to the same goal. all the best My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 22 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 374 Amount Saved: $88.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 3 Mins: 22 Seconds: 6

Sparkwins, Good for you. Be sure to have your coping strategies at the ready in the days to come. It will be tough but remember it gets easier as you put more distance between yourself and your last dose of nicotine. Let us know if you need any help. Cheering you on! For the first two days, I used Thrive 2mg lozenges. For the next four days, I used Thrive 1 mg. lozenges. Friday night at midnight I stopped using the lozenges period. It has now been 68 hours since I have stopped the lozenges so, that I am cold turkey period. I did not want to quit smoking and then have to quit the helper program too months later. The first 24 hours of stopping the lozenges was just like quitting all over again, but now it is back to normal. So, I am non - smoker cold turkey for heck week this week. Got through hell week. Need to get through heck week now.
