Hey Doodles is it the south Florida Beach diet??? Thta is a really good diet for people who need to lose lots of weight. I know people who have lost 70 plus on that one. It is good for meat eaters! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 221 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,525 Amount Saved: $2,331.55 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 1 Mins: 59 Seconds: 17

Lainey, Keep us posted on your progress with WW.. The diet that I am on is suppose to jump start your metabolism. After the two week are over and you begin to ad carbs back into your life.................... This is my third day and it's hard, but if I can give up nicotine, I can do anything!!! Good for you Gen! 10 lbs is great! Keep on going! And now that you have conquered smoking, you know you can do the weight thing too! Take that confidence and run! Thats what I am "hoping" to do! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 221 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,525 Amount Saved: $2,331.55 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 0 Mins: 29 Seconds: 26

My daughter and her boyfriend are doing Weight Watchers and I am sort of using their books. Being aware of the points. Trying to keep away from all the 'lazy' eating I was allowing myself to do. More fruit and more exercise. Also not allowing myself to think that eating a big plate of fat and carbohydrate is actually helping me not smoke! Anyway, so far I've lost about 10 llbs. Only a few hundred more to go. Really. Staypuffed! LOL! Nice to see you Tom. Hey you will notice I said 17 lbs THIS QUIT! Its the other 703 quits that added weight as well....so I feel like your avatar, seeing that I am only 4 feet 9 inches tall.(Yes I have heard all the short jokes there are!!! and the song too) So the business trips are doing it to you! That sucks, finally get a perk and what happens eh? Is there anyway to fit more exercise in on these trips? I know my Hubby struggles too, its hard to eat healthy when you're in restaurants all the time! I have been watching my diet very carefully and stepped up the walks and weights so am seeing some results now which is the incentive I need. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 221 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,525 Amount Saved: $2,331.55 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 0 Mins: 9 Seconds: 24

Hello quit buddies!!! Lainey, you only gained 17 pounds? Amazing. I wish I could say that. I was doing alright until the last two business trips. I put weight on during both of them and I'm still carrying it. I'm not looking for a silver bullet or advice to deal with it, as you said, there's really only a few ways to effectively deal with this. Now for the when to deal with this. I have another trip coming soon and if I don't get a grip there will be a problem I don't want. I'm off to formulate a plan (I love this part). Hey Doodles, that sounds like a tough diet. I am following W/watchers. I can have whatever I want, within reason of course, but I love that flexability, and I need the structure and accountability. Just my first week so we'll see how things progress. I only gained 17lbs this quit...its all the other quits that have added up, so I have a wasy to go. Good luck to you! We all look for that magic bullet or pill and there just isn't one out there that works. "You can lose a lot of weight as long as you are prepared to put in the time and effort it takes to change what you eat and get excercise every day!" Jaimie Lee Curtis So get the quitting done first, get that under your belt and then get inspired to lose the weight! It a lot easier to tackle one at a time!
