Didn't Need This!

Thanks for the responses! Last Vioxx was Thursday night. The chest pains have come back, but much less severe than before and much shorter in duration. Only taken Tylonel a couple of times for the flare ups and it has worked. Thanks for the encouragement!

Jeff, I agree with Michael but even so don't despair. There are other medicines they can try. My Dad just went through the same thing with the Vioxx. They simply put him on something else and it is working equally as well. Take care... :)

Jeff - sounds like the anxiety was probably causing the chest pain more than anything else....perhaps the vioxx was more of a placebo for you....you are doing well and I bet even without the vioxx you will continue to thrive. Keep us posted, Michael

After my Dr. and a referred Cardiologist ruled out my heart as the cause of my persistent chest pains, my Dr. put me on Vioxx for the inflamation that was apparently causing my chest pains. Don't know if it was the Vioxx (probably was most of it)or the Cardioligist telling me it wasn't me heart, but I haven't had a chest pain in a week! Was incredibly bummed tonight when my wife pointed out that USA today ran an article today saying that Vioxx was being withdrawn. I have only been on it for a week and was only supposed to be on it for another week, but I am stopping it now. Too bad as it really worked for me. Will be calling my Dr. next week to see of there is anything else I can take instead. Didn't need this, trying not dwell on it but it feels like a great break for me just got torn away!
