My hubby and I quit together, we also had some insomnia, and the other lovely symptoms you mentioned, but for the insomnia - we started taking the pill earlier, still with food, at least by 5pm, and then we had no problems sleeping. It is well worth it IMO. If you stopped the chantix, then it is probably your body adjusting to life without nicotine, you might have to ride it out, perhaps herbal tea, exercise, and water will help detox you, again, well worth it. I just waited it out. Not sleeping is the process. Sure I didn't like it, but I didn't like getting up in the middle of the night for a smoke either. Losing sleep is a small price to pay when you figure what you are gaining in the long run. Being spacey, that will pass also. When you body is healing there are all kinds of surprises. When something new comes up; post it and we will be there with our experiences. You are doing great!! I think it will take a little time to make the adjustment, I am so tired. I hope you can get some sleep soon.

anyone else having trouble sleeping and what are you doing to get threw it?

Hi Jeffy, Here are a few tips for insomnia. Good luck! Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that youll begin to feel better. Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask. Use your bed only for sleeping. Dont lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping. If you cant sleep after half an hour in bed dont stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still cant sleep, get up and do something quiet once again. Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot. Try to get some exercise every day. Youll feel better and sleep will come much quicker. Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel wired. Dont drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed. Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Dont eat just before you go to bed. If youre not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day. Use relaxation techniques. Box breathing may help you relax at bed time. Chantix does cause sleeping disturbances and you may want to speak with your MD about once again adjusting the dose if the tips above don't help. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Jeffy if you're on the patch, it's o.k. to take it off before bedtime. A lot have complained about the vivid dreams or nightmares keeping them awake. I had them too but thought it was kind of interesting.
