Thinking of Smoking

Lady. Sorry I am late. I am really glad you are feeling a bit better today. You are a great influence to a lot of people, including myself. Keeping the right chemical balance is very important. So it is definitely worth keeping a close eye on meds and stuff. Its my way of saying, I am really glad you are here. Showing me the way. The meds are back in their correct dosage and I feel much more in control today. I hate days like yesterday. Absolutely hate them. I often think of smoking again just to bury all those emotions deep inside where they use to reside. Dealing with the depression and the anxiety are the only thing I don't like about quitting smoking but I suppose I am a better person for it. Thank you for all the support during a time when I really needed to belong somewhere. I've got a lot of stress going on right now. I will keep taking one day at a time. Thinking of you Lady and hoping that tomorrow is a better day for you. Pamper yourself as needed and get plenty of rest. Thank goodness those evil thoughts are only temporary and YOU made it through this test! For all of you long time quitters, look at my meter....do you want to be here again? I don't want to be here, I want to be where you guys are, and I could have been, except that I gave into the weakness and bought a pack convincing myself I could just smoke one cig...but after this, the voices get louder and more demanding and the next day, I buy another pack, smoke one or maybe three, and before I knew it, back up to a pack a day. That was 9 months ago...now I'm only 14 days into my quit and even though its hard, I'm just taking it one day at a time. Maybe when you feel weak after being quit for so long, maybe just take it one day at a time again, to get you through, pretend you are at the beginning again, fighting hard to free yourself of the nicodemon. This addiction really is evil! Took a long hot bath, chatted with an old quit buddy, spent some "me" time working on a baby blanket and now I've taken my medicine and I'm going to bed. I am so exhausted. The kids are asleep and now it's my turn. Yes, I do love being smoke free. I struggled and fought hard for my quit and I do have the luxery of choosing to keep it. I do not need to smoke. Sometimes that addictive thinking sounds just a little logical but I know better. Smoking doesn't help anything. I think that if I really believed it would help, I would have gone back to smoking a long time ago. Cigarettes use to control everything I did but they don't anymore. I do not want to go back. I guess I just get tired of the demons some times. Thank God I don't have to fight smoking anymore. Than YOU for your support. Tomorrow will be better I'm sure. Good night. Well, I know you're not going to smoke, Lady, but I know how you feel. I am in the same predicament. I want to smoke, but I don't want to smoke because I know better now and I know it won't make me feel any better at all. But I still want to. I also want to win this week's lottery too. And that won't happen either. It is that blasted junkie, waiting for an emotional moment to trick us into giving her a fix. She sneaks up when we're feeling low or stressed and starts calling our name. Well let her call, let her yell, let her scream. Scream right back at her! You know she hates it when we tell her. I will not smoke again. Smoking is not an option! NOPE! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 218 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,450 Amount Saved: $2,299.90 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 16 Mins: 53 Seconds: 53

Hate to hear that you are in a "funk." I know that you know that smoking is not going to make you feel any better. It will just make you nauseus, make you stink, and make you cough. Plus you would feel so mad at yourself. A funk is a funk - they come and go whether you smoke or not. You know what to do and we all know that you can do it!
