sorry to have missed you yesterday doodles. i haven't been here much for a few days...its a good thing though, i have been taking some 'me' time. it helped get things into perspective. i've been swamped at work due to the holiday on Monday. i like having holidays off but man, do we work our butt off for the rest of the week..lol i made an appointment with my dr. to see if my meds need to be adjusted since i quit smoking...it won't be for 2 more weeks though..i'll just try and hang in there til then. you are sooo right unhooked and aloha, i need to take care of myself....its time i am a little selfish(in a good way). i am just so used to doing everything...like a superwoman that i lose sight of whats really important and thats ME!!! today is 6 weeks and i'm going to have some 'me' time today and think of a nice reward. also, i have a couple friends i have been neglecting...i'll catch up with them and a nice long bath sounds like a great idea, doodles. i am feeling a little better today, it really helps to write out what i'm feeling and then it doesn't seem to have so much power over me if that makes any sense. yes, doodles this addiction does play with our minds...but we are stronger. we have to keep our eye on the prize...a healthy, smoke free life. we are doing a good thing for ourselves. i think i am finally seeing that. you're right Anna, i can't be focusing on the negative and yes i am still not smoking...i'm going to focus on that. thank you all so much. i have a lot to learn and this is the place to learn it...with all of you that have been through it one day at a time. NOPE!!!! Just remember, this too shall pass. Nothing worth going back to smoking over. Just take this one day at a time and try not to focus the negative. You will be fine! Keep your chin up no matter what. Whether you feel lousy or down, you still are not smoking! Yeah, I'm with aloha! We are doing a hard thing here & a very important thing. If you were saving a heart attack victim, would you stop to make your husbnd's supper? No. But saving your own life does not have the same priority?? If your husband is hungry, tell him you are, too & remind him that the room with all the big, rectangular things in it is where the food is, & you'll have one of whatever he's making. Oh & he should make one for the kids while he's at it. You'll be in the bath for the next hour and will be happy to deal with anything that comes up after that, in the morning. If you're up to it. oh, all of you brave, working hard quitters it IS hard to overcome this addiction. I mean, come on now, we've been doing it for so many years Let's cut ourselves some slack if we fall down on our other commitments...we will bring ourselves back up when we can. Please, please, please...congratulate yourself on following through on this mission. We are all doing it..one day at a time.... Okay everyone....let's all have a lavender bath with a good book, then a nap..or a massage... YEA!!! Starrider.... You are still smoke free!! I am so proud of you and all the mustquitters!! So proud of everyone on this site.... We are all doing positive things with our lives!!! So sorry that i am a little slow on the response... But for my advise.... My favorite relaxing time is to take a hot lavender bath with a great book & soak for an hour!!!! It sounds like you have made it through the worst.... Just keep up the great job! This crazy addiction makes me NUTS!!! I can not believe what it has done to my head & yours! I know that my body is over the physical addiction.. It is just somehow hung up in the past & my mental addiction... All I can say...... is that I am looking forward to getting past this year and starting a clean slate with my mind!!!
