I almost went back to smoking when i got on the scale

Scary isn't it. I've put on 50 pounds! I had to buy a few new clothes just to have something to wear! Even my feet got bigger. Not only that, but the struggle to take if off is harder, really hard. I lose two gain three, lose three gain two. It's horrible. Not as horrible as this, however. When I used to go to the gym as a smoker I always had an elevated heart rate that would start racing with exertion. I don't have that anymore. Ultimately I know I'll be able to take the pounds off just because my ability to exercise is greater. I know for a fact that the weight gain is primarly caused not by not smoking, but by eating and what I choose to consume. Since I quit smoking, I've had food cravings for fatty and salty things that I never liked before. It is a hurdle to get over, one more barrier to cross. It's OK i know its gross pic i should of considered people with weak stomach. I even read somwhere they might put pics like that on cigarette packs. My dad was 5ft 8 and in the last weeks of his life he was maybe 80 pounds maybe less he wasnt able to get out of bed. And i remember i usto say i dont want to die skinny like that i usto say i rather be smoking then be fat but i know that was the junkie talking. My kids would love just to have me around they wouldnt care if i was skinny or fat as long as i was alive. Hi Candi. Niether did I intend to make you feel bad. The pic does totally freak me out but it's your pic. Your choice. Like the others said, I'm sure it has everything to do with the fears I have regarding what I may have done to my own body smoking all of these years. So sorry! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 870 Amount Saved: $169.65 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 15 Mins: 44 Seconds: 15

Hi Candi Oh I just ran across this Candi. I was in a silly mood Friday and was being playful. I can see why it didnt come off that way. Sparky is right. It is a grim reminder however a good reminder of what smoking does to our lungs. Its a very strong deterrent. I apologize that I made you feel badly. I see that you have quite a few big quit days behind you. So bring out and up the good lung, bad lung. It is fine by me. What's important is that you keep solid in your journey. Don't worry about the picture. For some of us it is an awful reminder of what we have done to ourselves. If if works to keep you smoke free then it is doing it's job. Using it on your frig or tape it you mirror will remind you daily. Please do let us know how you are doing. Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 146 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,460 Amount Saved: $438.00 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 16 Mins: 7 Seconds: 35

Hi Bobi here, I have gained a total of 10 lbs. and I am so discusted I can't even tell you how much! BUT I will not smoke to lose it and I sure would if I started smoking, when I smoked I was real skinney size 5-6 sometimes a 4, now wear an 8 and they are snug. :( my husband always told me keep smoking and one day you will die from cigs., laying in the coffin people can say well she was still thin! WOW what a statement and so true. Well I will just get happy with the weight gain, am working on loosing it and maybe one day I will, but it will be with the motto NOPE. much luck to you. hugs, prayers, pixie dust Bobbi you would think I could just use my magic pixie dust and take care of it all, lol lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 180 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,400 Amount Saved: $450.00 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 8 Mins: 19 Seconds: 4
