Famous Qoutes from Famous Quitters

16 years ago 0 134 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I like the qoute " I would rather be an exsmoker occasionally thinking of smoking than a smoker constantly thinking of quitting" I am putting it on my quit wall and on all the doors that lead to the out side. Who ever wrote it thank you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/2/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 75 Amount Saved: $36.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 15 Seconds: 40
Today is day 14. I have been busy all day and just stopped for a minute to check in here and realize I haven't thought about smoking except for one time this morning. What a great thing.
-Terry What an amazing change from pre-quit, cutting down phase. It really is true that the only way to stop craving is to completely quit. Otherwise you are thinking about it all the time. I love this post! Not cravin', never cavin' Hummy Life's too short for something other than a woman to have that much control over you. -bigdadyjason YOURE NOT MAKING A DECISION WHETHER TO SMOKE WITH EACH CRAVING. THE DECISION GETS MADE ONCE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO NOW IS WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON THAT DECISION. YOU KNOW ITS THE RIGHT DECISION. DO NOT LET A CRAVING MAKE YOU DOUBT IT. -Newbkr wrote it, but it was a concept she got from reading a book about running Tomorrow I want to listen to the rustle of leaves and peels of laughter. I want to see a child smile and someone with love in their eyes. I want to console in sorrow and cheer for success. I want to hold a hand and stroke a pet. I want to dance till dawn and run like the wind. Tomorrow I want to see you so please dont spoil my tomorrow. What else can I say? -darkmyer Have any of you noticed how utterly ridiculous it now looks when people go around with a fag in their gob? I mean what did we see cool in that?? God I'm glad I don't smoke!!! -Bogman You know what Mister Addiction...you will not get the better of me! I've been fighting this thing for tooooo damn long to give up now! I want my freedom damn it! and you are gonna give it to me! -ladybugg This thought helps me often - anybody can do anything for an instant - so I do not smoke for this millisecond - and after a while all those milliseconds add up - but it is never any harder than not smoking for a millisecond. -Yoda BREATH - it is important. Sometimes all you can do is say, yes, I want a smoke, and no, I am not having one now. N.O.P.E. not one puff ever, -Mirbah Wouldnt you rather have craves for a little while now, instead of having them for the rest of your life? Every time you light another cigarette, youre just starting the cycle all over again. Get through the first few weeks, and youll never have to feel that way again. -Hummybird (concept from Allen Carrs book) Look at quitting cigarettes as giving yourself a gift-a very big gift. You are giving yourself a better quality of life and, very possibly, a longer life. You are giving yourself a healthier body. You are giving yourself more self-esteem. Wrap all this in a package and look at it for the gift it really is, then "Go for it!" -Duffis My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/5/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 1024 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40,960 Amount Saved: $6,656.00 Life Gained: Days: 141 Hrs: 0 Mins: 16 Seconds: 17

Anna, Both MJ and I were trying to get Daily Llama to get climb back on the wagon after his initial hiccup, but it was actually I who told him "don't listen to the addict - listen to your heart". I guess that makes me a famous quitter in your book, so thank you for the kind words. thanks Aloha you saved me a search because I wanted to add this to this thread from my wise friend I'm one of those who believes that life does not stop when we quit smoking. Eventually we will face all kinds of situations, and if we really want to be quit, we will face them without smoking. And that is really the question; Do you really want to be quit or do you want to use this as an excuse to start again? There is no in between, because "just one" always leads to ten, a hundred, a thousand more. -Aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 295 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,950 Amount Saved: $516.25 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 19 Mins: 21 Seconds: 50

I learned how to quit, learned how to fly a seaplane, learned all new coping skills, learned, learned and wow what an education I got. Today I am smoke free, a licensed pilot, am going for my masters in human behavior. - Pete My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 397 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,955 Amount Saved: $1,667.40 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 17 Mins: 11 Seconds: 55
