Hey Bea, I love your positive attitude - thank God for that! It will make all the difference to your quit. It is so much easier to take it by the scruff of the neck and get on with it as you are doing than get down and whiny about it. I can see you are going to crack this Bea, I can see that you are postively a winner!! Congratulations on ONE WEEK today!! Just keep on keeping on! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1218 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,360 Amount Saved: 6,090.00 Life Gained: Days: 195 Hrs: 15 Mins: 27 Seconds: 55

You've got the idea, we used cigarettes as mini-rewards and excuses to have a little break between jobs. It is important to remember that you are still allowed to take breaks, go outside and to have little treats. Spending a little time at SSC is a good break, dream up some new mini-treats and breaks, ideally things you haven't tried before. Rusty here got me into Chai tea, that is very comforting. I also like Rooibos tea, either plain or with Vanilla My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/16/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1004 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 32,128 Amount Saved: 6,024.00 Life Gained: Days: 138 Hrs: 7 Mins: 30 Seconds: 5

Thank you everyone for the encouragement! It has been a wonderful day - smelling panera bread, tasting the drink and food. Cleaning and smelling the house for myself without asking "does it smell alright in here", and the fall air! Love it! My dog ran off a couple of times today - so needless to say, I had to get her a new leather collar - she is a rott, shepard, wolf mix. I know how to pick em don't I? I wanted a dog that would protect me though. She will, I just got her trained. But - what I noticed, I could walk to chase her down, I was a bit winded, but I did it. Before I would not have been able to do that without stopping to catch a breath! Another victory! I embrace every one of them! Thank you all Bea My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $12.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 49 Seconds: 24

Hey, bea! You're doing great, that's a great idea for a distraction between chores. You have the right attitude, too, and that's how it gets done! Keep it up!
