Day 2

Mamma D Day 2 is difficult. but I think everyday after that gets a little easier.. This is day 16 for this quit ( I actually stopped July 29 for 2 weeks, slipped and started back) So, with all that said each day is easier & it seems with every time I say NO to cigs that I get stronger.. Distracting & delaying seems to be working.. I love to smoke a straw, too. Then I take out all my anger & chew is UP!!!! Hang in and hang on, it's a bumpy ride for a little while but smooths out pretty soon. Mamma D, The first week is the hardest so hang in there. Keep busy, keep active and keep distracted. This frustration you are feeling will pass. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

hang in there a little while longer Mamma D. the first few days are rough but it does get better. staying busy really helped me especially in the beginning..and also sticking close to the people here for support. you CAN do it!! you're already through the first day...YAY YOU!!! take it one day at a time, one minute at a time if you have to. you're doing great!! The first three days are the tough ones! Keep all your quit stategies close, if you don't have some find 'em fast, candy, gum, stir stix or straws, reading posts here. Hang on, because it does get better and yes be proud of yourself, it's not the easiest thing to do but it is so very worth it when you are going to finally feel great! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 189 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,725 Amount Saved: $1,993.95 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 3 Mins: 29 Seconds: 10

Yes you do have a lnog journey ahead, but it's an exciting and healthy one. Have something ready to do after dinner, don't let it be a trigger. Many thanks for everyone's support which truly helps more than works can say. Day 2 is hell.......I am full of resentment and want to just light up and angry (but very proud) that I am not. There is this enormous tug of war between the ole Nico Demon and Me. I just keep telling myself that I have CHOSEN not to light up. I know there are still rougher days ahead and that I need to hang on. I am keeping myself busy, drinking lots of water and praying allot. Will check back after dinner.
