How does your panic attack start????

Mine start with the sudden wave of anxiety, it takes hold and i have to move, i usually get up, start pacing and it gets worse from there on. Then i get the usual sick feeling, racing heart, sweating, hard to catch my breath etc..Apart from that i just have the constant nagging feeling in the pit of stomach... like the anxiety is lurking there under the surface proving to me that it wont go away. Mine starts as this warm weird feeling that radiates from my chest to my arms etc. Kind of like hot flashes? Not sure. My head feels weird (not really dizzy, but "off") Panic attacks don't always start the same, nor do they always act the same every time, at least in my case anyway. It seems to change just when I think I can "handle" it, something new comes along. My body thinks it is smarter than I am!! (LOL)

Khris, normally I have a tiny flash of anxiety which I then concentrate on with the usual "its happening again, oh no!" "how long is it going to last" "Can I divert it", etc. As soon as I focus on it it starts to get worse, I have obsessive thoughts, get light headed, queasy, etc. Very annoying. Rachele

When a panic attack starts, I get this surge of whatever they call it. Flight hormone. That big rush of adreneline (that is not the name I am thinking of) and it is awful. I have to do all I can to keep from freaking out. That is how every single panic attack starts. How do yours start? Truth be known, I can easily THINK or TALK myself into one by just considering it. Awful....How do your panic attacks start?
