How you doing Gloria? Is the increase in medication and counseling helping you out? I hope so. You are not the only one I have noticed speaking about experiencing some anxiety and/or depression even while on meds. Can I ask how you feel the meds have helped you? I am particularly curious about this as I was hoping meds would help clear up my lingering anxiety. Rachele

Hi Jay, thanks so much for your advice...I also increased my medication and see my therapist more regularly. It just gets so frustrating at times. I actually have some meditation tapes that help. I have to understand that this is my genetic make-up and it isn't my fault. It is so easy to blame yourself for how you feel but I have to get through it. I appreciate your support...hanging in there, Gloria

Hi Gloria- My name is Jay and I have been dealing with this panic for the last couple years. I also have depression. I don't usually wake up feeling that way, but sometimes during the end of my day I get those feelings. I recently upped my meds and that has helped. One of my coping mechanisms is to remember the success I have had in the past even though recently I have had some big setbacks. Has your therapist led your through imigary? That has help me a lot to. Pretty much, its going to a happy place where you felt safe and at peace. You bring it to life by remembering the colors, smells, sensations and sights on that place. Its a way to distract yoyr mind from the panic. Anyway, let us know how you are doing. Jay

Thanks Rachele...I appreciate your advice. It is hard sometimes when I am dealing with anxiety and depression. As soon as I feel better, I become my active and calm self. It just takes a little time. Gloria

Hi Gloria, sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time. I try to get regular exercise, take my vitamins and listen to my relaxation tape everyday. This sometimes provides immediate relief but mostly provides a cumulative effect over time. I have learned this through my years of on/off panic. I also use index cards to remind myself of how I feel when I am having a "good spell". I just write stuff like "Rachele, when you are panicking you think this will never end but it always does" and stuff like that. I hope some of this helps. Rachele

Hello again, I suffer from both depression and anxiety. Currently, I am in a slump and I feel absolutely terrible and anxious. I am not sure if anyone experiences this but when I awake every morning, my stomach is in knots and I feel absolutely terrified. Later on, I become emotional and start to feel that these feelings will never end! I am on medication and I am seeing a great therapist but I don't know what to do in the meantime. I am on holidays until Sept. 7th and I try to keep myself occupied...please help!
