Hey Sparky, I am sorry you are having a tough time. I am also glad to here you are able to not smoke. You see I am doing the same thing. It seems like trouble just keeps knocking on the door and I am not the one with the key to keep it locked. All I can do is keep the smoke out. As the fires burn around us and we stay smoke free we grow and get stronger. We already know where there is smoke there is fire. Lets just keep saying nope and the flames will die down eventually, Nothing last forever, even these worrisome craves.((hug)) BLUE CLOUD My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $208.00 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 0 Mins: 22 Seconds: 14

Sparky The committee needs to SHUT UP, AND TAKE NOTE - I, SPARKY, WILL NOT SMOKE, NO MATTER WHAT HELL SHE HAS TO GO THROUGH. - SAY IT. You would be amazed at how even yelling stuff like this out loud seems to have an affect on those voices. INTENTION, INTENTION, INTENTION We have talked so many times about how much we want to be free. No one can fault us for not having courage - we have gone through hell week how many times now between the two of us. It doesn't get easier with each repeated attempt - you know that. You also know that it isn't one time or one cigarette, or one pack - it's the whole carton, then another, then another - a whole stinkin lifetime. You have been given lots of advice, and WOW - do you feel the love from these people. They want you to succeed - and - you will. One day at a time. We are holding you up and loving you even if you feel you cant go on. Let be and believe in it all. YOU CAN DO IT. I KNOW YOU CAN. Way to go Sparky. You have all of the ability to ride this through. As our great friend Marie would say,"On Day at a Time"! Sparky - your posts have been such an inspiration to me. I hate to hear you are having a rough time! You have made it so far and you will continue on your path - it just gets bumpy along the way. Those are the hardest tests but when you realize you can get through it without the crutch, you win! I'll be interested in how you continue off Chantix. I am also on it and fear it is like a "binkie" that I won't want to give up. From old-timers to newbies, we are here for you! Sparky, Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. Remember, it will take some time for your body to adjust to being Chantix free. Until then, keep employing your coping strategies just as you did. This too shall pass. Hang in there. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hey Sparky! Well, I know you have a phenomenal support team in place and I know that you want this quit to stick and that sounds like success to me. You are at a point in your quit journey where the rubber meets the road and the foundation you've built over the last 100+ days has to carry you into the next phase. New Sparky :) Are there any new and improved ways you can cope with the stuff that is going on? Exercise, prayer, meditation, journaling? We so want to turn back to what we know (smoking) in order to deal but you know it would be such a let down to go that route. Is there a small reward you can throw in to get you over this hump? When are you getting the kitty? Maybe you can go out and get some pre-kitty supplies to get your mind back on the positive? We are rooting for you Sparky! Sparky, that old addiction likes to kick us when we're down. But 117 days says that you are stronger. Yes, there are things that we can't control, and that's what makes it so damn bad sometimes. But as hard as it is, you have to let go and let God be God. That's all you can do sometimes. Chantix is so new, I guess we don't know what happens when you go off it. That may be a big, big part of it, although not all of it, I know. Hang in there, girl. Sparky, this is the weaning from Chantix, it's hard to be on our own for a while, it does get better promise, hang in there you have proven you can do this. Do whatever you have to do to stay smoke-free, if you feel you might relapse, call your doctor, whatever it takes just don't smoke. one day at a time Marie hugs will be thinking of you My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 438 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,446 Amount Saved: $2,847.00 Life Gained: Days: 58 Hrs: 5 Mins: 26 Seconds: 0
