I feel strange

Stop4good, my nickname IS that floaty feeling [name hijacked straight from a Stephen King book :) ] - that's how severe my spaced-out-ed-ness was when I quit, it pretty much defined me! It's annoying to be sure, best relief for me was some fresh air and plenty of sleep. It'll pass. Well done on 4 days, and welcome to the SSC. x T My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 199 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,577 Amount Saved: 1,094.50 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 14 Mins: 23 Seconds: 40

Stop4good, Unfortunately, this is part of withdrawal. The good news is that it will pass so hang in there. This indistinct but annoying symptom is linked with carbon monoxide withdrawal. It gives a sense of being in "another dimension." It can include changes in distance and space perception, a floating feeling, and a total lack of concentration. Remember that carbon monoxide is a deadly poison - it is a good thing to get out of your system. How long will this last? First few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Plan your workload to account for your temporary lack of concentration. Avoid additional stress during the first few weeks. Hope this helps. Congrats on day 4! Its reassuring to know I am not the only that experiences this. Its awful I hate it. I just want to feel normal. I feel as though I cannot concentrate and I feel like everyone and everything is really distant. Hope I do feel better. Monday and Tuesday where awful, Yesterday I felt better, this morning I felt great but this afternoon the spacey spacey feeling has come back GRRRRRRRR. I will hold on and pull this off. hello Stop, During the first 2 weeks of my quit I experienced the floaty feeling, it was almost an out of body experience. It seemed that my short term memory wasn't there either, had a lot of trouble focusing (mostly at work) It passed -THANK GOD!! It was a struggle to keep my quit because I felt so out of touch with everyone and everything. Wouldn't it be great if we could go into hiding until the withdrawls passed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,224 Amount Saved: $302.40 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 11 Mins: 12 Seconds: 23

I have had a week off work due to stress, basically I was physically exhausted and started to feel ill last Thursday, but I have also quit smoking and coffee at the same time. Its been 4 days cold turkey, yes four days. Every day I seem to be getting a floaty feeling that last for few hours and then goes. When this first happend I was really worried and suffered from anxiety. Its seems to be easing up. Has anyone else experienced this floaty feeling, and worried?
