Hello everyone
Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts. It has been a long and sometimes difficult 8 months, but each of you have made the journey so much sweeter. It is strange, but I feel I do know quite a few of you well, even though we have never actually met. That is probably because your struggles have been mine and visa versa.
I can tell you true as I am sitting here, that without each and everyone of you, I would still be smoking two packs a day and wishing I wasn't. But that is not the case, and words do not convey the thankfulness and humility I feel for having come this far.
I know I tend to sound rather confident about my quit most of the time. But that has not always been the way it felt. I can't tell you how many times I just sat here and read and read and read posts to distract myself. Responding has been equally helpful to me as it has enabled me to more clearly express to myself the things that I must do to maintain this course.
Thank you all again for sending this honor my way and also for being here when I needed someone. I will never forget the fact that this site and this group of people have combined to help me find the courage to finally say no to cigarettes and yes to a sweeter kinder life...
Stay well and quit
