Lady Thank you so much for being here. You are always so gracious and kind to stay in touch and help those who are struggling behind you. It means alot for people in the grasp of this thing to realize that there are people who have tread the same road and taken control of the addiction. Thank you for all of your support. nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,570 Amount Saved: $1,533.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 1 Mins: 39 Seconds: 51

Janna I am so glad to see you here with 50 days...I remember when you first started, you fought so hard through the emotional issues. I could tell you where an emotive smoker, like me. I knew what that meant for me and had a pretty good understanding of the "change" you where experiencing. Your recent posts sound as if you have gotten a handle on alot of that now. I know that we must always be on guard against confusing our emotional needs and states with a desire to smoke, but I'd say your doing a great job of it...Stay well and quit nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,570 Amount Saved: $1,533.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 1 Mins: 38 Seconds: 48

aloha I can see by your posts over the past few months that you too understand the idea of "quitting from the inside out"...And you managed to do it even with the unexpected arrival of your niece... I know this is a hard thing and my heart goes out to all who make the attempt. Its funny, I used to think of quitting as the cessation of a physical act. Now I truly understand that it is an affair of the heart in the truest sense. To recover from an addiction is to have an intimate relationship with the nature of change. It isn't always pretty and it sure does hurt alot of the time, but when you start to get a sense of the reality of it it sure does make you proud...I am so happy to see the progress you are making...Stay well and quit... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,570 Amount Saved: $1,533.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 1 Mins: 37 Seconds: 13

Nance Thank you for your kind words. It was an interesting exercise to try to summarize in a few paragraphs the why, where and how of my addiction. For me, writing has always been a way to explain things to myself and my journal has been an invaluable tool as I struggle with our common addiction. Quitting is alot like going home. To different degrees and turns we are enabling our bodies to regain some of the vigor that smoking has stolen...or should I say that we have given away to smoking. Thanks again for your kind comments...Looks like we will be celebrating your double century soon... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,570 Amount Saved: $1,533.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 1 Mins: 35 Seconds: 16

Josie Thank you so much for your kind words and for being added to the HOF, it is very humbling. However, I will say without a doubt that had it not been for this site, I would still be downing two packs a day and wishing I wasn't...Thank you all for being here... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 219 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,570 Amount Saved: $1,533.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 1 Mins: 32 Seconds: 48

nonic I am so pleased to see that you were named as the hall of fame recipient this month. I look forward to your thoughtful and thought-provoking posts. You often put into words what I feel, as well as introduce me to new ways of looking at this process.
You must want to quit from the inside out. This is not an activity for the faint of heart.
That one has always summed it up for me. Also, thanks for the reminder that nicotine is what it is and that our birhtright is to change and evolve. Here's to changing and evolving Again, congratulations, -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 132 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,280 Amount Saved: $897.60 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 11 Mins: 27 Seconds: 59
