Stickin',
I guess that I have smoking 'thoughts' every day. I see people smoking when I am out and about and I'm sure that this triggers 'thoughts' in me that non-smokers wouldn't experience. The difference is, that unlike the start of my quit, these thoughts are just fleeting and in no way of any threat to my quit.
To me, the main battle has been won when you can say ' Not only do I know that I won't smoke, but I also know that I have no desire to'
:)

WE all have such different time frames for not thinking about it.
I'm just now feeling the true relief.
It wasn't that I was suffering before.....but I didn't feel free by a long shot.
I really do think it was those bites of nicorette gum I was taking.
Hard to believe that two little nips could do that....but I think so.
Although...I can't say I really craved the gum when I gave it up.
Who knows...but anyway... I'm feeling good now. Except for the past two days. That new medicine make me feel drunk with that kind of high I don't care attitude. I seriously could have smoked with an I don't care attitude. I really know this quit is for good. I've had so much happen throughout the months where I could have.... and chose to say
NO.
Yep...I'm happy
Mercy

Yes, it is an interesting post. While I was still on the patch, I could say I had many days when I didn't think of smoking at all. Since I've been done, I hadn't thought about till right now. I don't think I've actually thought about smoking since about 3 weeks into it. Being nekkid, I am a little short-tempered, moody & so on like a mild version of maybe heck week but I never think about smoking. I often think about choking the living crap out of some dumba$$ who richly deserves it, but smoking? Not so much.
Wow! I never think about smoking anymore!!

Interesting post. I got to that point but then stopped coming in here so much and started again. I could easily go a day or so without thinking about a cig.
Just breathe.......

On the radio this morning, a study group found that it takes just two days for young adults to begin to shows signs of cigarette addiction and they said seven days for younger people, I assume they meant teenagers.
If they only knew how long they would be smoking and the amount of money they would spend, if they really only knew
We continue to try and undo all those smoking patterns, memories, if they only knew
We do have some amazingly positive events to look forward to like getting through that very first day without a single smoking though. Who has experience just this, gone at least one day without thinking of smoking and about how far along in your quit were you?
