I'm in a writing mood today by the looks of it. Normal service will resume shortly. Right, just for my memory, here's a list of cool July quitters. Blue Cloud 04 July 2007 Sam 2007 06 July 2007 Joyful Spirit 07 July 2007 Shutterbug 10 July 2007 Chicknoodle 11 July 2007 JDK 12 July 2007 Method : CT Penguin 13 July 2007 Lynda 14 July 2007 (my quit buddy) Method : CT Darpel 19 July 2007 There's normally a thread for each month, like april ashkickers, mayflowers etc, but couldn't find one for July so I thoought I would get a list together. Feel free to add your name to it. Best wishes to all of the above. Hope you're having a good day today. Nance, sorry to hear you had a triggersome weekend. Glad you got through it. You're a shining light in my life and a great example of what can be done if you put your mind to it. Not only to me but to a lot of people. The fun thing is that you'll never know how many go 'If Nance can do then I can quit too'. The whole, 'it gets a lot better' is very important. I have the 'If this is the plataeu then I am going back to smoking' thought quite often, which I cancel out with the 'Everyone on here actually says it gets a lot better' thought. Then I have the 'Maybe it's all a conspiracy and this is the best I really feel' thought. This is finally cancelled out by the 'Actually, everyone is so honest here' thought. There you go, a complete crave creating thought from creation to extinction! Btw, that bath oil thing is called 'original source'. Don't know whether you have it in the US but maybe one to add to the crave busting basket. Some smileys for you while I think about some chess instead of smoking .. :) :) :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 450 Amount Saved: 75.60 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 57 Seconds: 14

Kevin, Congratulations...another weekend under your belt. Now, wasn't it easier than last weekend? We all told you it DOES get easier, even when you may be in doubt. You have shown me a lot about your determination, and this weekend found several of my own triggers. Yes, I thought about smoking, but didn't take even one puff. I thought of you, and how I must practice what I preach. I could have used one of your essential oils by Sunday night. I was tired from fighting the nico-monster. Keep up the good work, and the daily promises! Week 3 is half over. I notice that you are posting more positive things for others...another step in your healing. You have this thing kicked this time. I will never lose faith in you, my friend! You can do it. Hey Aloha, Good question. I am always analytical (somes over-analytical - thats the chessplayer in me) so I always go through what causes the triggers. Especially ones that cause day 1 like cravings. So I started off by thinking about what is different about today. It has something to do with my uber-strong link to my quit buddy who is about 600 miles away at the moment. I think I might be missing her constant moaning!! Coping strategy? Like most things it seems 'muddle through the day and post a lot' is the answer to everything. I'm not going to smoke, as a) I made a pledge, b) its about 55 minute walk to the store, c) I have a strong curiosity for day 31 that keeps me going. Hmm, maybe it is a 'while the cats away the mice will play' scenario. Hmm, interesting. Only three days to go until the end of ug week, yes. I will keep that in my mind. Yes, kev! Every crave you face down and win against is one more step towards freedom. What are some of the patterns or triggers you're noticing? Once you figure that out you can prepare for them. Remember that thread?...This is why you think about smoking..that talked about all the associations we have with smoking. I'm going to bump that up for you, Blue Cloud, and anyone else who hasn't seen it. Just cause I can ;p Hope your day is going well (3 days till 3 weeks) -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 130 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,200 Amount Saved: $884.00 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 3 Mins: 27 Seconds: 6

Aloha, Ylang Ylang and Patchouli is whats in it (the essential oils). Might be great for a wind down after bodyboarding! :) I am indeed a thursday quitter. We're twinned! :) blue cloud, wow! That makes me happy indeed. Maybe a blue cloud rough guide to x we might see later? (that was all yoda). I look to you to see what it may be like a week in advance. Like one of those barometers 'Tomorrow will see blue clouds with a smattering of rain' :) .. I hope they warned you about my sense of humour freemom, nice to see you! (hugs) I am craving biiiig style today, but with a positive attitude. It a wierd feeling. I guess it makes a difference to craving and being depressed at the same time. My quit buddy is in scotland, so I will do a virtual pledge to her today. I promise to my exceptional friends at the SSC and to my out-of-town quit buddy, that I WILL NOT SMOKE TODAY! Hi Kev! Look at you 17 days strong! I've been catching up on your thread a bit and am so happy to see how far you have come! Your attitude is so wonderful and your resolve strong - I really believe you've got it this time. :) I know I don't get on here as much these days, but earlier in my quit I was here several times a day - so keep using this forum for support! Way to go - keep up the great work! lol kev i always need more than most of those essential oils, too...maybe we're a little thick-skinned?..lol..no wonder you slept so well ;) That heart rate monitor watch sounds like an excellent idea. Oh! and I just realized you are a Through on Thursday quitter like me, so every Thursday we can celebrate together, okay?
