Bear, I'm not sure about this one. As a smoker, I controlled my emotions with nicotine and didn't SEEM as emotionally unstable as I was as a new ex-smoker. Now, I'm still learning to keep my emotions in check, but after I quit, I was a disaster when it came to emotions! So emotionally unstable as a smoker? I don't think so... I think I may have been a little more emotionally stable, albeit it was an unhealthy way of controlling my emotions. Now, I'm getting better, but I'm still not sure I would describe myself as "emotionally stable." Not yet anyway. Crave the Quit! Good morning bear, i for one was emotionaly unstabe before i quit LOL, i never really realized how much the smokes masked some of it until i got what i would say stable again, i found out i also have a temper :) i use to go out side and smoke and there is when i would cover the emotionaly unstable thing, the depression and my anger, it was like learning who i was all over again, but i like me alot as a Non Smoker. I do think that these things bother some during the quit and causes them to go back to smoking to be NORMAL again. ( Born Neurotic ME too) have a great day tresa My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1811 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 36,220 Amount Saved: $6,338.50 Life Gained: Days: 255 Hrs: 8 Mins: 28 Seconds: 28

Bear, as a former smoker I know I make some smokers uncomfortable My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 189 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,780 Amount Saved: $529.20 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 10 Mins: 17 Seconds: 55

Some body suggested in an earlier post that he thought that smokers were the most emotionaly unstable people on the face of the earth. It is not my intention to debate that statment.I would like to talk to the people that feel that they may fall into that catagorey.I for one feel that I was.I use the past tense because with age that condition has improved for me.I think I was born neurotic. :) The reason I bring this up is I wonder if this may be a reason why many do not attempt to quit smoking or have such a difficult time when they do decide to quit. :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 126 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,268 Amount Saved: $1,260.00 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 19 Mins: 53 Seconds: 30
