Hey Cheeks, I didn't read all the other responses but just wanted to throw in a WELL DONE! If you can hang tough through that at 10 Days in - you've got some serious resolve. I see a bright, smokefree future ahead of you :) All the best My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1072 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,440 Amount Saved: $4,824.00 Life Gained: Days: 81 Hrs: 21 Mins: 15 Seconds: 44

Cheeky - Way to go on keeping up the good quit! I'm afraid that Smoker's are very selfish....When I smoked, a part of me secretly wanted to see my friends "fail" when they quit....Isn't that awful? When someone successfully quit, I felt more isolated and it reinforced all those bad feelings I had about my smoking. Now...we can go out and support other people that are struggling along. Cheeks So glad that you refrained and avoided the temptation. You may find your relations with smokers to be some what strained at this juncture. My feeling on this is that every one who smokes really wishes that they did not. Some still believe that they can quit at any time, some have resigned themselves to the smoking life and some would rather not think about it. I do not know your Mother and would not presume to rationalize her comment, however, I do feel she could have been a wee bet more supportive...In any case, you will no doubt find many people who are less than enthusiastic about your chance of success. Each will have their own motivation for feeling so. At the end of the day, though, this is your deal, your quit and your life. As long as you know that you can do this, you will do this...Keep making it your priority and most of all keep walking up that hill, your gonna like what you see... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 200 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,000 Amount Saved: $1,400.00 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 14 Mins: 28 Seconds: 40

Hey girl, you are doing good. Don't let someone else bring you down. I had a relative tell me he would quit when "they thorugh dirt in my face, and it probably wont be that long" That type of talk is stupid.Taking care of yourself is something I am learning late in life. I've always taken care of others. No matter what I am putting me first with my quit. It is by me, for me and about me. Yours is too> My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 180 Amount Saved: $36.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 36 Seconds: 10

Cheeks - you are amazing. I agree with Lainey, your mom is an addict. I think the people in our lives who still smoke feel guilty about not being "strong" enough to quit. I am not saying they aren't strong enough but that they don't think they are strong enough. It is easier to try to beat you down and pull you back to the "darkside" than it is to fight their own nicodemon!!!! In any event, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 775 Amount Saved: $155.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 16 Mins: 27 Seconds: 6

Thanks everyone. I did get a nice reward for hanging tough last night. There has always been issues like this between my mother and I, but I believe that discussion belongs on a completely different message board. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 135 Amount Saved: $30.38 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 20 Seconds: 3

Hey Cheeks, Good for you! Your Mom is just addicted - that's all. I thought I knew alot about quitting smoking until I came here. I didn't know squat! I have learned more than I would have learned from these people than you could ever learn just searching. Smokers dont' know this stuff, so give them a break there, if they knew it they would all quit! Meantime, That was a great test for you and congratulations on being strong and coming through it! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 130 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,250 Amount Saved: $1,371.50 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 21 Mins: 59 Seconds: 27
