So glad that you refrained and avoided the temptation. You may find your relations with smokers to be some what strained at this juncture. My feeling on this is that every one who smokes really wishes that they did not. Some still believe that they can quit at any time, some have resigned themselves to the smoking life and some would rather not think about it.
I do not know your Mother and would not presume to rationalize her comment, however, I do feel she could have been a wee bet more supportive...In any case, you will no doubt find many people who are less than enthusiastic about your chance of success. Each will have their own motivation for feeling so. At the end of the day, though, this is your deal, your quit and your life. As long as you know that you can do this, you will do this...Keep making it your priority and most of all keep walking up that hill, your gonna like what you see...
