Well when life throws us curve balls sometimes we gotta duck and dodge it, or take a run at the pitcher! You gotta do what you gotta do! Enjoy whatever endeavor and wherever life is taking you! Pat, Thanks for sharing with us. Boy, life is messy but smoking just makes it messier. You have a commendable attitude and you have given yourself the gift of over two weeks of your life back. I don't want you to go anywhere....I will certainly miss your wise words of wisdom. Not to mention your positive attitude. I am so grateful that you quit around the same time that I did, I knew I could look forward to reading what you had to say! I wish you well, please stop in for a parade every now and then. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 161 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,415 Amount Saved: $676.20 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 23 Mins: 3 Seconds: 44

Pat Thanks for that post. You have gone through a lot and seems like you are not just handling what's thrown at you, but are actively making choices for a better life, beginning with stopping smoking. I sometimes think about how when we make a decision for change, we are given what I call "opportunities" to test that resolve. Once we successfully navigate those, we no longer are faced with the same challenges. I wish you all the best in your life and please check in with us. I will miss your posts. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 88 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,520 Amount Saved: $598.40 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 8 Mins: 27 Seconds: 55

Thank you so much for that, Pat. Handling difficult life situations as non-smokers is a big hurdle for us all, I think. I have lost many quits because of stress, pain and sadness. Smoking never changed any of it and this quit, I deliberatley think back on those times and make myself re-live them in my mind without the smoking. It sounds masochistic but I believe it will help me be ready for the next curve ball. Pat, your calm, grounded, common-sense posts have helped me a lot and set an excellent example. Thank you again for that and I hope you'll come back to check in now & then. All the best on your journey.
