Hang in there, Fly, one day (or minute or second or whatever it takes), you can do it. You are doing it! Fly, Welcome to our community and congrats on quitting. You are starting off great by being prepared and this can help you every step of the way. Continue to occupy yourself and know that this first week can be challenging. Your body is healing and it will take time. Use those coping mechanisms and post often :) Josie, Support Specialist

Fly, The first few days are the most difficult. It sounds like you are very well prepared and this will make the transition much easier. Come to the site, read posts, and ask questions. Just hold on tight Fly, you CAN do this. I had interrupted sleep for the first couple of weeks and I think it's just part of the process. All of the symptoms you feel these first few days WILL get so much better. Just hang in there. Freedom awaits you. Just experienced my first hit ... kind of. I woke from a nap (slept very poorly last night ... first patch applied after retiring, so not sure whether or not that had an effect), and without really thinking clearly, while getting out of bed, thought that the first order of the day would be to check e-mail and have a smoke. My first thought of "oh ... s**t ... how can I do this ..." (that didn't take long, now - did it!). Good thing I really, really like red licorice ... on my third licorice whip as I type. I am scared ... very scared. I have all of my ducks in a row as far as preparation, NRT's, prescription aids, support network ... but still very afraid. As a side note, my dreams while napping were incredibly vivid. I don't think the patch and/or Zyban causes an increase in dream activity - just a much better recall. This part of it will be a LOT of fun!
