Just keep doing what you're doing! I promise, it will get better very soon. The first three days are the worst.
Early on, deep breathing really helped me alot. I also pampered myself with long soothing bubble baths and started a new hobby (cross-stich) which keeps my hands and mind busy. Of course, hard candy, gum, water, and sunflower seeds were also helpful.
