Benefits You have Experienced so Far?

Physically, I feel much better. I have way more energy, my cough is gone along with the constant tightness in my chest, I don't get those painful little "explosions" in the side of my head anymore, I sleep better. I have more self-confidence because I don't smell, my skin & teeth look better. Emotionally, I am happier overall, proud of myself, more positive and a better example for my kids. I could go on for hours. This quit has made my life 347% better all around. Apparently I have more money, too, but I don't know where it is either. Phil, have you seen it? My favorite is: I have gained self respect... and....I have a clearer conscience with God. To me.. those are biggies. The rest of the things I like is icing on the cake. Like being able to take bigger..deeper breaths...not smelling...and wasting so much money. mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 133 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,660 Amount Saved: $594.51 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 13 Mins: 20 Seconds: 45

The most obvious one is I don't cough and loose my breath. It was frightening, my pipes would close up, and I couldn't take a breath without coughing. Doesn't happen any more. I don't have heartburn daily any more. I do feel like I have more endurance. I can handle a flight of stairs without feeling like I am huffing and puffing. I don't feel any different than I did when I was smoking but I don't have the constant having to smoke. I don't have the focus issues and haven't at all this time around. I am having such an easier time with the budget with no cigarettes to pay for. Since I quit my life has changed so much for the better. I feel wonderful, smell much better and am not chained to smokes and wondering when I can get out to have a smoke. I have a new job that I would never have applied for when I smoked because I couldnt smoke at it whenever I wanted to. I now joined L A wieght loss with money I saved from not smoking and I have lost 18 lbs, (2 more to go) and I have lost 13 1/2 inches. My new smoke free life is wonderful and I hope yours is too!!! Benefits You have Experienced so Far Several people that I work with, both smokers and non smokers alike have asked me if I feel better physically since I quit smoking. My answer to them was yes. I have more endurance when I hike, slight cough that I had gone, breathe deeper, resting heart rate down from 85 to 65 beats per minute. They neglected to ask if I felt better mentally that answer is also yes. I thought smoking was my side-kick, the one that helped me solve problems, incite creativity, sooth my emotions, and promote general euphoria. These things are done just as well and perhaps better and faster since I dont have to deal with ash trays, smoke in my eyes, cigarette rolling onto the desk, carpet, bed or car seat. That nicodemon certainly had me fooled for decades. What are the benefits that you have experienced so far and what future benefits to you expect to see?
