Day two - cranky!

17 years ago 0 7 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
It's day two for me, (my stats below are from the last time I tried to stop). This time I'm having the worst acid reflux. Any others out there experience anything like this? It kept me up last night and is burning pretty bad today. I'm also realy nasty. I've already yelled at a woman on the street for running into me. I had some choice words for her. Fortunately I have kept it together with my 36 employees, but I'm afraid what will happen if one does something wrong. I want this part to be over. Not to fear Bonnie, I know just how you feel. The nic fits pop up out of nowhere and take you by surprise. I can be having a great day and one tiny little thing will make me blow my stack! After looking foolish for about 5 minutes I am back to normal Be strong and don't give in. It will pass, I promise :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 255 Amount Saved: $63.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 21 Seconds: 23

Speaking of cranky, the other day I wigged out on my family because i could not find a lid to a bowl! My son is still making fun of me for that one! I tried to take myself off the Chantix too soon and got really bad craves, but throwing a bunch of lids around my kitchen help keep me from smoking. P.S. Never found the right lid either! Bonnie, It is a matter of trial & error to find strategies that will help you along with cravings. Here are a few more to try: Spicy food, sour candies, distractions, brushing your teeth, sucking on a straw. Be sure to work through the online quit program for more strategies. Irritability is very common among new quitters. It does get better with time and largely is related to a lack of nicotine in your system. Grab a reward or try a pleasurable activity to lift your mood. Time to be kind to yourself! The first week is the thoughest. Hang in there! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi, Bonnie. Hang in there, try to keep breathing &m try to change your environment if you can. Take a walk, take a bath, go shopping. Anything but smoke. You don't really want a smoke, it's the junkie in your head having a tantrum. Let us know how you do. You can do this. First welcome to SSC. You have found a great site for support. First what have you done to prepare for this quit? Check the tools on the left and if you haven't gone though the quit tools, please do. Second I am on Chantix also and with the script came a card where you can sign up for their daily emails, have you done that? Along with this site and their support this quit has been manageable. Being cranky and irritable comes with the quit process. Celebrate it, your body is healing. Drink your water, walk, use self talk, find a place where you can be alone and scream. Just remember you can and will be a quitter as long as you don't smoke. Give yourself a hug and tell yourself I am worth this quit and the monster will not win!! I'm Bonnie and it's my second day not smoking. I'm very irritable and cranky today. I'm taking Chantix and this is my 4th week on it. Obviously I wasn't successful in my first, or third for that matter, attempt. Gosh I want to smoke so bad right now, yet I don't. Breathing, walking, lollilops, eating, lots of water, is just not cutting it. Breathe Bonnie breathe! Bobbi, are you around? I found the cite as you can see and decided to post because I'm having a real hard time. Help!
