I talk to my inner junkie. Talking to myself in previous quits didn't work because I would just get stubborn with myself, tell myself I can so have one & that would be that. So now I tell the junkie that lives in my head that I don't want her there, I will not feed her & she will die. I also imagine a huge, disusting ashtray full of all the butts of the cigarettes I haven't smoked.

When I get a crave I go Oh I just had one remembering when I smoled and sometimes would have two in a row.

When I start having stupid ideas, like "hey, I wonder what a cigaratte tastes like now" or "hey, I don't really want to quit" or my favorite "hey maybe they are wrong about it being unhealthy, they were wrong about margarine being good for you after all" I visualize in my mind a nicotine monster (mine looks like the gross little mucinex guy, but smoking a ciggy) and a giant big NO with red letters coming down and smashing him.
I find that really works, and makes me not think about it again for a while.
Does anyone else have a little trick?
