Sure.. it's because that is the habit you've gotten into. Consider this: How long have you been in this negative pattern? With practice, it may be a shorter time to establish a new positive pattern/habit.... But it requires work, and it's not going to happen the first time you ever do it... Here's my email if you'd like to be more on a private basis.. If not, that's ok too... cmorrison@dataprose.com :)

This is what I understand... You have that feeling because you've made it a habit.. You told yourself the same thing so many times before that You believe it. Part of recovering from this, In my opinion, is to change your thinking....WHICH CHANGES YOUR FEELINGS!! For Example "Sometimes I feel like I want to drag myself down like their is no hope." I used to feel like I wanted to drag myself down like there is no hope, but today I want to bring myself up because I KNOW THERE IS HOPE. It's easier to give in, but just for today (for the next 5 min, half-hour) I choose to believe my life is worth living, I can get better..I will get better and those feelings of hopelessness have NO PLACE in my life..because of xxx...start naming the positives in your life>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just like Rocky...YOU are stronger than YOUR FEELINGS>>> your feelings have power over you, because you allow them to... Let the positive feelings FORMED BY THOUGHTS, be the ones that power you.....

Kitcat Sometimes I feel like I want to drag myself down like their is no hope. I know their is hope for me I just have to findit. Do you understand or Am I just rambling?

EXACTLY!!! Practice practice practice........makes perfect.. EACH TIME..A NEGATIVE APPEARS, refuse to acknowledge it and ONLY think about positive thoughts... Look out the window, breathe, read something, hum a song you know..or sing it in your head... In other words DO what YOU have to do, to get rid of the negative thought...imagine that you have ONLY positive in your life....

Kitcat That is helping pull me out of the anxiety attack.Do I just keep breathing and think positive thouts?

Remember to breath too..... REFOCUS your energy... FORCE yourself to NOT think about how you are feeling...rather focus on a positive(s)..thinking about positives..........CREATE POSITIVE FEELINGS... Dwelling on how you feel, or examining how you feel...REINFORCES THOSE FEELINGS... Reinforce the feelings YOU WANT TO have...eventually, over time, they can take the place of the ones you are allowing to control you now..... :)

Make a list of everything positive you did since you woke up this morning.... Got up, got dressed, went to work etc... Then think about how you can fill up the rest of the day with MORE postives...dinner, running, going to the store...whatever.... EACH time something negative starts to surface, replace it with one of your positives...SQUISH IT.... YOU have the power..no one else...I don't, your wife doesn't...you have to CHOOSE THE POSITIVE over the negative each time it surfaces....is it nice outside? Is there a child in class today that is particularly pleasing to you? When I got to work this morning, I kept saying "I knew it I knew it....." What did I know? "NOTHING HAPPENED" I simply drove to work on the freeway that I have been avoiding for almost 2 months... Simply refuse to let those negative thought occupy space in your mind... IF you fill your mind with all the positives in your life, there won't be any room for the negatives..... :)
