Hi Shakes, I do hope you are feeling better. I had a sore throat up until 2 weeks ago. I finally went to my doctor and I had a sinus infection (didn't know it) with some post nasal drip, which can cause the sore throat. There is also alot of strep going around right now, so I thought a visit to the doctor was a must. I hope you feel better, but if you don't be sure to see your doctor. Shakes, you may want to check with your Doc on the sore throat thing. You're about at six weeks, I am thinking it may not be from the quit as you are moving along in it. Hope you feel better! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,925 Amount Saved: $812.35 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 10 Mins: 45 Seconds: 25

Hi Shakes, In my 3rd week I had a similar experience with symptons akin to food poisoning. I thought it was just that, but then had it again about 2 weeks later. I have not had the same, since. I feel that it is all a part of the healing process and our bodies way of purging the bad ( from smokin') for all those years. Chin up, as it does pass. Hope that you get that sore throat looked at if it persists. Rainey :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 750 Amount Saved: $600.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 5 Mins: 18 Seconds: 2

Oh Shakes... So sorry you are sick again. Our bodies are healing in many ways and perhaps your illnesses are related to ridding itself of all the 'gunk' as you put it. Into my 2nd week of my quit I picked up some Vitamin D and C tab's to help boost my immune system. So far I've had one cold and with that came horrible cravings but that's about it. Sure hope you feel better real soon. Drink lots of tea and if you can pick up some chicken soup :) Jean My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,175 Amount Saved: $481.75 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 7 Mins: 38 Seconds: 17

Sorry you're sick, Shakes. I have never had any actual sicknesses on any quit, but we're all different. Maybe you're tired & worn down from scrapping with your inner junkie & you need to get some major R&R. Bad sore throat can be serious though, maybe you should see a doctor or at least get some vitamin C. Hope you're better soon. I've been getting sick a lot lately. It's strange; I'm one of those people who hardly ever get sick. But last weekend I got what seemed like food poisoning. And now I'm down with the worst sore throat I think I've ever had. I don't know if the sore throat can be attributed to my lungs clearing out some of the gunk from smoking all those years? Or my body's just changing? I'm healing in another way so my immune system is out of whack? Or does it have nothing to do with quitting smoking? Anybody have similar experiences? --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 920 Amount Saved: $414.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 18 Mins: 12 Seconds: 51
