Good morning Bear! You just keep on doin' what you're doin', because you're getting good at it. We can all see that you feel differently about your quit now than you did at the beginning...you've hit a couple little bumps in the road, but we all did. Go back and read your first "very bear-y long" thread...you'll see how far you have come! Keep inspiring others with your own brand of the truth in your own words, and yes, I'll take that 6 pak, thank you ...I can handle it! Just don't ask me to share it with you...I care about you too much to do that! Feeling pretty dam good this morning.I put on my patch my 1,rst one at 14 mg.Looked at my quit meter and said not bad for a guy that was,nt sure about quitting ?? Did I plan on quitting ?? No.Am I doomed to fail because I did,nt plan my quit ?? Don,t care I,m here now. Do I feel like apart of me is missing because I don,t smoke. No.That part was cancerous anyhow. When I tell smokers that I quit smoking after 50+ years and they congratulate me do I feel good.Yes (nothing worse than a reformed smoker :)) Has this site contributed to my abstinance.Absolutly.Hell where else can you go to get help for your quit and collect a harem at the same time. :p Bear tuck that tongue in your drooling again.. Okay Bear, my scolding is over. I have a good idea about how to keep the squirrels off of Frip...remember that day when your landlady had that permed/frizzy hairdo...take some of the styling product she used and sprinkle it around Frip. From the sounds of how it worked on your landlady, it should be able to scare away all creatures - including squirrels. Bear - you're in the Bear-House with me right now! It sounds like you were a bad bear a few days ago. So, if there's any booze left in your place - get rid of it. P.S. How am I doing with the whole tough love thing? ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,434 Amount Saved: $448.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 20 Mins: 27 Seconds: 54

Thanks Pat But my problems started because some moron in the neighbourhood started feeding the damn things now they spend their time burying everything that they can,t eat . I like your idea Nance but right now we have a lot of gun problems in the Toronto and surrounding areas with people solving their problem by killing the other guy.Sticking a gun barrel out the backdoor would probably end with my butt being thrown in jail.I,ve been their before and did,nt like the hospitality. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 783 Amount Saved: $430 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 6 Mins: 56 Seconds: 32

Bear, Please go easy on the squirrels (and other creatures) for a few days until Changing is able to keep you in line without so much effort. Getting wasted and posting on SSC is just asking for trouble Bear...hee hee, I've never done it cause I can do enough damage just being tired. I have not been shipping any manure to Ontario, cause I know there's already piles of it there. Just keep cutting the grass Bear, it will keep you occupied and not chasing harmless squirrels. ;) Hey, maybe the squrirrels are just hungry? Have you tried feeding them some peanuts? Or, how about wrapping some mesh or chicken wire around the base of Frip to keep them out? Do you know about and did you put the handful of regular oatmeat and banana peels inside and outside the hole when you planted Frip? By the by, Bears of the grizzly variety can not abide cougars and will attack them without provocation (don't even step in cougar dung in the wilds of B.C. if there are any grizzlies around). Mercy, maybe you could get some Grizzly Shake Away so you can go walking again? Ok bear...keep up the great quit and the positive attitude. I'll be super duper busy with manure for the next few weeks at work, so won't be around here much to help keep track of you. Keep those patches on like they recommend and try not to do too much wasted posting. Above all, KEEP KICKING A$$. :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 95 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,820 Amount Saved: $1330 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 3 Mins: 32 Seconds: 0

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hey Bear, My brother-in-law shoots the squirrels with a BB gun. It stuns them, but doesn't really hurt them because they run off (after jumping straight up in the air about 3 feet, pretty funny). They must learn...he has a lot fewer than he did a couple months ago...and he lives near the woods and had hundreds of them. Just a thought.
