Kitcat One thing I am learning how to do is use this computer.One thing I havce noticed is that I am not as anxious in the afternoon or in the morning is that because i am busier.It seeems like mornings are my worst time. When I first wake up especially.

The beach was awesome, although I probably stayed longer than what I should have considering that I haven't been in the sun for months and months.LOL I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow. "Does stoppig the panic with some sort of distraction help you clear your head is that the idea" Stopping the panic with a distraction allows you to continue doing whatever you were doing before the panic. If you force it to stop, then you, in essence, can get on with the business of just living. Does that make sense? I'll tell that on Friday, when I drove the freeway to work for the first time in about 2 months, I had a plan that I could bail at one or two exits if it became too much. I pulled over to the exit I thought I'd take (thinking it would still be a success that I got ON the freeway and went several miles) But then I said to myself "Heck NO, I'm going to keep my eye on the prize...I was driving fine and NOTHING HAPPENED. I started fiddling with the radio, started using my mirrors, sang to the radio and BINGO, there I was at the exit I wanted to get off at... You have to find your OWN distractions, it could be reading, it could be watching TV, it could be mowing the lawn, it could be running, it could be going to a movie, it could be finding a new recipe and then making it, it could be cleaning out the Garage...WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET YOUR FOCUS ***OFF*** YOUR PANIC and on to some POSITIVE THOUGHT OR ACTIVITY. The real key is staying busy with either positive thoughts or activities so that there is NO time, no room, NO REASON to focus on your panic. Whenever you focus on your panic and do nothing to circumvent it, you're giving in to it. CHANGE THE CHANNEL...What has PANIC ever given you? NOTHING!!!IT ONLY TAKES AWAY...IT TAKES AWAY FROM LIVING...and basically, but honestly,, it ONLY CAN, IF YOU ALLOW IT. YOU AND ONLY YOU have the power to change the channel and put up that HUGE STOP SIGN..I KNOW THIS concept is new and unfamiliar...but think of it as getting rid of a bad habit (BAD) and replacing it with a good one. Fill your life up so full with things you enjoy that it spills over to every other person you love or care for. We, so often, are reluctant to give up, that which is familiar, for getting something down the road that we don't instantly see t

Kitcat I hope you enjoyed the beach.In order for me to go to the beach I have to go to the gulf of Mexico which is About An hour Away.Most people around here go to THe casinos in Neworleans on Bourbon Sreet.Does stoppig the panic with some sort of distraction help you clear your head is that the idea?

Good job!!! I'm glad it's helping. But it's more than just getting through it. You have to devise a way that as soon as it starts you get rid of it. That's where the distraction comes into play. You begin to replace it's onset with positive thoughts so it can't even take control. In other words it's more than just getting through it..it's more like putting up a gigantic STOP SIGN at the first signs..then using positive thoughts AND DISTRACTION so it leaves. It takes practice but I know you can do this. Going to the beach for some sun. Talk to you later.... ;)

Kitcat Thankyou very much for the information.I will down as soon as my wife gets home.Your idea on positive thoughts seems to remove some of this anxiety.I just keep saying I can get through this anxiety. I do this over and over again that seems to help.

Again, it's a choice whether to allow those negative thoughts to control you, or you control them. Is retiring what YOU WANT to do? Just curious. Great news about your daughter... You must be proud!! :)

Kitcat Well I am back from my daughters track meet.Wedy won the half mile as usual.My wife complained about myShe also told me I being negative.My wife told me I can Retire from this School System and come and work in her SYSTEM IN mISSISSIPPI. sO ALL i HAVE TO DO IS SURVIVE 7WEEKS IN MINE .i ALSO hAVE TO BE MORE pOSITIVE.

That's the spirit.... "Being negative has NOT worked" And it WON'T.... Get those 2 months back....because you deserve it... And don't lose your determination..it's essential in order to move forward!! You have every reason to be proud of you accomplishments. But KNOW those accomplishments are right in front of you and yours to HAVE if you KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE.. Depend on yourself...to lift yourself up...don't rely on others...cuz often just when you think you need to rely on them they'll let you down. Whereas if you only rely on yourself, well yourself is already there ALL the time...and besides, YOU are the only one who is going to PULL yourself out of the hole...FEEL GOOD ABOUT THAT!!! Just like you felt good about your college professor. We can always be to OURSELVES, what we are to others.. Sometimes, though, we forget about ourselves. DON'T...sometimes YOU need to come FIRST so you can be good to others....!!! Embrace your fears...stare them down...and freedom can be yours... :)

Kitcat I have to be positive I guess their is no other way.Being negative has not worked.I taught 25years successively why should i let 2 months bother me. Once I had a college professor thank me fo teaching him how to read. Saying that made me feel better.
