Maxie, Hang in there... and remember that when quiting gets hard.. quiting is EASIER THAN: hearing the doctor say..I'm sorry easier than cancer pain easier than looking at the sun from a hospital bed easier than preparing your funeral easier than leaving your loved ones without you easier than dying. You made 17 days.....you can make 117 days. I know you can. Lots of support Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 74 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,497 Amount Saved: $330.78 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 16 Mins: 55 Seconds: 10

Maxie- I am on the patch as well and have been on it for about 5 weeks. I am still on step one. I tried doing step one for two weeks then tried step 2 and it wasn't good. They recommend you do step one for 6 weeks then step 2 for 2 weeks then step 3 for two weeks. The program was designed to be for 10 weeks. Phil, you made me laugh! Don't worry. I'm in control, not that nicodemon. Next weekend I'm going to Las Vegas with my hubby. It will be great to go as a non-smoker.

You are right Maxie, the more you think of smoking the more you want to smoke. Just get it out of your thoughts, think and do something else. Keep busy or just relax. Congradulations on 16 days. Maxie I love the way you reward yourself, by self approval.
...We ignore and never mention the Sole Impulse which dictates and compels a man's every act: the imperious necessity of securing his own approval, in every emergency and at all costs...'
