I'd walk a mile.....

This whole nonsmoking thing is all in our heads. It's all mind over matter. Instead of walking around all day thinking about smoking....don't! You need to ignore it and be whom you now are. You are whom you want to be....so live it. Make any sense or am I just rambling? It doesn't have to be an expensive reward. It can be as small as maybe a nice long bubble bath at the end of a long day. A piece of desert at dinner when normally you would not have one. A stroll in the summer breeze. Something that makes you feel good about you! Reward? My life is a reward itself. I can't think of a material item I deserve. As far as I'm concerned I don't deserve anything till maybe I'm smoke free for 1 month or even 3. Than I think my reward will be a complete physical without having to lie about my habit.

Maxie - You have not answered the question about rewards! When is the last time you rewarded yourself, my friend. Please know how important rewards are on this journey. They can make the difference between staying quit, or losing a quit. Blessings- Healer

It just occured to me that this was my first day also using step 2 of the patches. Something I have to get used to? I felt the very same way at the beginning of my quit...I even went outside to see if I could find any second-hand smoke. After a couple more days I found that second-hand smoke, and oh my! did it stink! I don't even want to walk through the smokers door anymore...the whole hallway stinks. It's amazing that I never noticed it when I was smoking! I think your feelings are normal...just keep plugging along, this too shall pass! My advice is PUT YOUR BRAIN BACK IN!!! Why would you want to screw up 17 days- just to go through hell and heck week all over again?? Come on, think about it. There are too many other ways to die- try to limit them as best you can. Quitting smoking is the most powerful thing you can do to extend your life and avoid a very lengthy, painful, desintegrating, excrutiating and ugly death. Don't commit suicide, thats not what you want. Take some deep breaths and really concentrate on the reasons why you quit.
