It's all too much

How are you doing Monica? I feel so bad for you but please don't give in and smoke. You will only feel worse. I wish we could all take away a problem and carry it for you untill you are able to do it yourself. It will only add to your depresion if you smoke. Believe me because I couldn't handle it after a 3 year quit and picked up that one cigeratte and here I am back here again. I smoked for a year had to be put in the hospital for depression. Smoking was the last problem I could take. I felt like I wasn't worth anything after that. I hated myself so bad. So please hang in there for all of us. We care and will do whatever it takes to get you through this. Ohhh my.. more inspiring and supportive responses... *tears welling up...good tears* Thank you my good friends! Yes Jan, I will be talking with my therapist in one month about how everything is just too much. I'm am making up a list of my feelings, about all that goes on etc.. and simply tell him that it's leaving me absolutely exhausted emotionally and physically at the end of every day. We've (the dr. and myself) have already discussed in previous sessions about sending hubby to a home for the disabled. When that subject was brought up to hubby he cried. My heart broke -- that's one trigger point for me to go grab a cig.. watching him cry. I know that a cig won't take away my pain, nor his.. but I've come so close. When all came to a head I came here and THAT is what stopped me from smoking. Everyone is surrounding me with such love, support, and more.. and thank you just doesn't seem like it's enough. Ok.. In a 1/2 hour I'm heading out for my long long walk :) (((((((((hugs)))))))) Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 74 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,489 Amount Saved: $666 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 8 Mins: 54 Seconds: 26

Hello Monica, I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. I am so proud of you, for being so strong and holding on to "your quit". If you do get a chance, check your IM offline messages, I left something there for you. Monica, I'm seeing this for the first time. Wish I had looked sooner. I'm sure after a while things reach a head for you. I'm glad you took the time to let it all out. Posted before you smoked. Taking care of yourself right now is sooo important. Have you spoken to your doctor about your own needs? I'm so proud of you for not smoking, and I'm wanting...no praying...for this to turn around for you. You deserve good times in your life. Thinking of you, (((((HUGS))))) Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,201 Amount Saved: $657 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 6 Mins: 2 Seconds: 26

'Morning, Well Audrey it is exactly what I'm doing - holding on to my quit.. If I lose that than I've lost everything. Julie.. I haven't turned up the music loud in a very long time! I used to do that many years ago and dance my heart out in my livingroom.. It's time to do that again! Great idea :) Thanks sweetie! My lunch with my girlfriend is this Friday - so many postponements with a lot of people due to weather/illness etc but always rescheduling to be sure to see friends. I checked my cupboards this a.m. and found some old dishes and boy do I have plans for them! :eg: Freedom my husband suffers from every ailment which is diabetes related.. briefly, leg amputation, extensive cardiovascular disease, kidney failure (on dialysis daily), just suffered a major stroke Jan. 21st (in the past 2 yrs 2 mild strokes and a heart attack), going blind and so much more. In a nutshell it just keeps getting worse.. there is no magic pill for him to reverse or stop the disease :( Dr's have said he is a ticking time bomb. I'm sorry that your mom went through what she did.. she sounds like a very strong and brave woman. Legend.. stick with your quit, stand proud with your quit, celebrate your quit and before you know it you're stats will astound you ! Lynne.. I'd love to have your email address.. to talk about anything.. can never have enough friends.. Thank you :) Well I'm feeling very special right now.. And through yesterday's and today's responses is what stopped me from running to the store to medicate myself with that horrible nicotine. I was feeling extremely desperate and you all came to my aid.. And for that I am so grateful! Hubby is off to rehab - only has one more week left as they can only do so much for stroke victims as it's something which affected the brain - So since the weather is supposed to be quite beautiful I will be going out for a very long walk. I'm packing up my shoulder bag with munchies, water and the like and go on a long trek :) Thanks again everyone.. *sigh* I'm giving it my best shot on my end.. Now I need to find solutions about the day to day grind. I just don't know how much more time I can endure being nurse/housekeeper/chief cook & bottle washer/financier/ etc etc etc. One day at a time right? Love

Monica, you may not believe this, but -- --I'm jealous of you! We're the same age, but you are almost 2 months ahead of me in your quit. I wish I had 75 or 80 days behind me!
