Thats probably a normal reaction even for people who don't have panic disorder. I know people who have no anxiety/panic issues who have been in similar situations and have completely freaked out and went into a panic thinking something bad is going to happen and it doesn't. Its seems to be just a normal human response, everyone gets panicky and anxious over things at some point in their life so in your case it may have just been a normal human response but because of knowing you have panic disorder you've pinned the blame on that because your'e so used to having panic. Make sense? Just a thought anyway :)
