    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Thank you mccoy! I am pretty amazed that I am 2 1/2 hours away from being smoke free for a total of 48 hours! That amazes me.. and even better.. Finished dinner and not really craving a smoke. I have thought about it cause for 15 years I would light up after eating. Amazing to me! Congrats on the weight loss! That is great and it gives me hope that I won't gain the weight back that I lost over the past 3 months. I have started walking every afternoon to help and of course still paying attention to what I eat and I refuse to eat just because I am craving a smoke. I have been drinking a lot more water and cut out almost all of my Diet Cokes. (I just have to have my Diet Coke with my meals though...) I have found that when I am craving a smoke if I get a cold water I feel better. I kept a water at work the past 2 days... not only does it help the cravings.. it also help with the weight thing... That is a win win situation... Oh LOU, Im so proud of you and your first day. It takes alot to get through the first few days but then it gets easier so much easier. Drink lots of water everytime you get an urge keep that water beside you and take a big drink. It realy does help. Well Just letting you know there is hope with the weight gain you were worried about last time I replied I had lost 10lbs since my quit but I'v lost 5 more now making it a total of 15lbs since my quit. So it is possible to not gain weight and even lose some. Good luck to you and your boyfriend. Hey Lou, I will look for that post as soon as I am done replying here. I really look forward to reading it. Thank you all so much for checking on me today! Day has gone pretty good... about like yesterday.. all but I am tired today and I guess after I got home from work got a little ill. The kids and I went for a walk again and now I am finishing up a salad. Nothing better after a good walk than a good salad. It really feels good to be able to say I have made it this far already! The cravings haven't been to bad today.. I am still thinking a lot about smoking but I still keep reminding myself that I am a non-smoker. So far so good! Yes, boyfriend is quitting cold turkey and he is not doing as well as I am. He is doing ok, but he is really nervous acting. He has been up and down and constantly moving since I got home. When I ask him if he is okay he says, "Yeah, I just want a cig." I can fully understand and I am really praying that this will get better for him soon. I wish he would take something to help him. But, each person knows what is best for themselves. Thank you all again for checking on me.. all the support is greatly appreciated... you guys (and gals) are the greatest!!!
