The curse of the "three's"

Thanks guys, you really do make me feel better! I've definitely had a better day today and plan on a nice evening with a big bowl of popcorn and a movie. As for Lindsay leaving home, you're right, its definitely the best thing for her and she's very excited. I'm excited for her. I'll get used to it. And you're sooo right, Lainey, hubby and I wouldn't want her living at home until she's 40!!!!! She's demanding enough now!!!!!LOL I did have to laugh at her brother though. No sooner did he hear she was leaving, when he made all these elaborate plans to turn her room into his very own "sports" den. I'm so glad to be feeling better today. No cravings, touch wood!!!! Thanks for the shoulder everyone, Luv, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 91 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,750 Amount Saved: $819 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 7 Mins: 23 Seconds: 58

Jan, When my kids left home, I was sad too, but I also took the opportunity to look at it from this point of view, "I raised my kids to be independent of me, that was my goal, so they could make it in the big bad world without me, so now I have to have faith in what I taught them and let them go make their own way" And it was tough, especially because the one I was closest to, was the one who's leaving hurt the most..but guess what.. Now I am so proud of the beautiful, smart, friendly, young adults they are, and they're making their own way in the world, and doing a great job of it. (Excuse the overly proudness here) The thing is, yeah they leave, but be happy for them.....we wouldn't want them staying home till they're forty anyway. Hope it helps! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 40 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,017 Amount Saved: $422 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 21 Mins: 51 Seconds: 47

Jan58, Let it out! That's a big change for you both. As for the cravings, getting back to basic may be helpful so take out that bag a tricks and don't forget to reward yourself often for persevering against the 90 day hump. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Jan, Were you a fellow Chantix user? If I recall correctly you were. I have to say I feel exactly as you do. Heebeejeebee city. That I think is the absence of chantix and the dreams I think are stickin around!!! OMG I must search the house in the am for the cartons I purchased in my dreams. And yet I've made some pretty significant changes to my life. Maybe my old self doesn't like my new self and is retalliating. Sounds logical. :8|: However, I'm here for you and we can try to make it through this stretch (I think it has been called no man's land) together. Jan, Really pamper yourself and rest. These life changes are something else. I remember when my son, then my daughter, and then my youngest son left home. I cried like a baby because of that empty nest deal but all at the same time, I was excited for my kids. Sometimes all of the good, the bad, the happy, and the sad can put our systems on overload. So, you need to pamper yourself, treat yourself, and then rest your bones. ;) Stay Strong Now, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,469 Amount Saved: $193.86 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 19 Mins: 26 Seconds: 52

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, Jan..... It's awfully hard to let 'em go, eh? I had posted to Windy that GOOD stress is as bad as BAD stress wherever craving is concerned....... I STILL dream about smoking....I think about it frequently, but not as strong as in the earlier days. That 90 days is still feeling vulnerable, but hang on for 10 more days and the realization of where you ARE is GREAT! There will still be times of desire, but they won't CONSUME you! Golly---I AM SOOOOOOOO proud of you and Monica both! (((HUGS))) Keep the quit! Hi girls, just a bit down the line here. I have had my share of blah days and Jan, my "baby" left home at 18 just as I quit and she moved to Art School and is now a very long 6 hour journey away. Cry? My God, they really should warn you of those times, shouldn't they? Tutti, what a lovely woman you are. Your good heart shines through so many posts. And you are so right. This passes too. well girls, it is wee small hours time here in bonnie Scotland after another gorgeous day and my decorating is nearly done. I am thinking about you all as I head for bed. Better days - I can tell you most assuredly, are just around the corner. Jan, You have been a rock for me ever since I joined this site. It's okay if you need a little "down" time...lord knows most of us have been there at one point or another during our quit. We also know that we are here for each other...so you did the right thing. Seeing your feelings in print makes them more real, somehow. Plus it gives the rest of us a chance to give back some of what you've given to us ('specially me). You just give a little holler (or a big one) any time you need us. We're here for you!
