Calling Closet Smokers

17 years ago 0 519 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Can closet smoking really exist? Some of my customers smoke. I can smell it on them a mile away. I think what we imagine to be closet smoking is a situation where we don't light up in their faces and they don't mention it. It's really really hard to be a closet smoker. It took forever for the smell to leave the shop, and it's really not gone yet from the car. Well it's day 29 and i'm still not smoking. Not so bad either. It feels great and I don't think the cravings are so bad. I'm proud of myself. I'm doing it.

I was a closet smoker when it came to my parents, but that's it. I could go days or weeks without even WANTING to smoke if I was in the right situation... but as soon as I left, I was craving like crazy! Now, I can go see my parents, spend a whole weekend, and not think of smoking even once... both when I'm there AND after I leave! What a great feeling! Crave the Quit! I was a closet smoker too. I hid from everyone except the kids. I think that when we are closet smokers we are more enslaved by our smoking than other smokers. We have to hide to feed our addiction when others are bold with their smoking. Looking back now it all seems so insane and I wonder who I was really fooling. I believe it was myself. Hi I'm H. i am a closet smoker as well, I have been married for 17 years but been with hubby for 27. Two kids boy 12 girl 14. I would smoke when no one would look. I would lie about my clothe smelling of smoke and blamed it on my coworkers or friends. I would find excuses not to go places and stay home and smoke then take a quick shower so that my hubby would not smell it on me. It felt terrible to lie. I would get caught every so often and I would promise to quit and said it was just a relapse. Again I lied. Now it's been 13 days. It feels great. Yet another closet smoker comes clean... I closet smoked for over 5 years without any of my family finding out. I'd get out of the house, smoke, go to work (secretly smoke when the boss was away), go to the pub every night, smoke, then come home. Now I must have spent hundreds of pounds on deodorant during this time. Believe me when I say that the Lynx effect does not work on the ladies when you have a cigarette hanging out of your mouth. My parents must have thought I really liked the smell of lynx because I would spray a lot of it on. Mercy's one below is my fave. I think there are a fair few more closet smokers out there. Hey bear.... I'm live up north. My stories aren't all there. The posts stoped before they were done. Maybe the stories were too long. Orginally the whole stories were there.
