Welcome George! You are doing really well - usually the second and third days are the most difficult. But hang in there because it will get better!! Although I am new in my quit, I feel so much happier and healthier, breathing much more easier and really wondering why I would smoke and be stinky and smelly!! You can do this too!! Read and keep posting!! Congratulations on your quit!! you're doing great. is there anything you can do to shift associations during your time wathcing the news? like watch from a different perch or re-arrange the room or exercise or lift weights while you watch? On my 2nd day of no smoking. My nerves are pounding in my ears. I feel good otherwise. Im using the gum, it helps the pain inside so its mostly mind over matter stress. The most difficult time is when I get home from work to watch the news, I find myself reaching for a smoke and my mind is trying to rationalize why I can smoke just one. The battle continues.
