Lucy, Welcome back! You know the routine, work through the online quit program and get prepared! You may not have to trade in your friends and family, just find new ways of spending time with them and coping strategies to help you when you're tempted. Many quitters on our boards have set great examples for their friends, families and coworkers. Some have followed, some haven't. Keep us posted. Danielle ____________________ The SSC Support Team

You are a true pioneer! I am proud of you for quitting and what a shining example of persistence! You truly do want to quit because here you are trying to quit again. Remember to do what it takes to protect yourself against temptations. You are worth it! And, if your friends see you are trying to quit they may decide to jump on the wagon with you. Good luck! Have you tried Chantix yet? I have smoked for 20 years and couldn't ever get past one month of not smoking. But, I am taking Chantix and it has really helped me. I've been on it for almost a week. Tomorrow is my quit smoking date and I will continue to take it for 3 months to help with the urges and temptations. It's worked for a lot of people on here. Just type in Chantix in the search word box.

Hi there Lucy. You can do this. I think you can be an example to everybody. When I quit I told a friend at work, she and I always took breaks together. Well, the first day, at our first break she didn't smoke. But at lunch she did. The next day she came in and said that she was gonna see how long she could go without a smoke. She still hasn't smoked one! My boyfriend also quit! He quit the day after I did. I didn't ask them to, I didn't tell them to.. I just told them that I was not going to smoke anymore. Be sure to check out the program on the left hand side of this page. It really helped me a lot. Read lots, there are a lot of great people here that are going through or have been through what you are going through.
