What I have enjoyed since I quit

17 years ago 0 1000 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I enjoy the freedom I have not having to plan my day and all my activities around having a smoke. I enjoy car rides with my husband (he never smoked and swore I was trying to kill him} that last more than and hour. I enjoy not having to run outside after dinner out on Sat nights. I enjoy not feeling the sick feeling that I am killing myself. I could go on and on and boy do I enjoy food now. Great post :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,240 Amount Saved: $403.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 20 Mins: 24 Seconds: 35

You're so right Butterfly, I was at a week long meeting in Arlington, TX one January and it was in the 20's. Arlington was already a non-smoking town, and I was outside the convention center, smoking in the freezing cold. I sure got to know the smokers tho, because we were out there every break! I spend most Sunday evenings at a friend's house for dinner & our favourite TV show. This past Sunday, she also had other company, people I like a lot. I got to enjoy the entire evening & did not miss any jokes or conversation or snippets of TV for being outside smoking. It was also pouring rain & I wasn't standing out in it trying to light a stupid smoke & keep the stupid thing dry. Smoking is stupid & I enjoy everything about not doing it. Went to the movies with my son and his girlfriend and I didn't have to quickly smoke a cigarette before going into the theater. I really enjoyed the movie and didn't think about smoking at all! It was so great! Scaredycat you so right, it's nice to be able to leave the purse behind. Had a busy and social weekend. I didn't have to carry a purse! ID and cash in one pocket, cell phone in the other. My purse was for cramming 4 packs of cigarettes and at least 2 lighters (in case one quit). And the breath mints of course. I have another... Lipstick stays on longer. Good job, Rose!! I had the same concern on a recent trip, sitting in my hotel room and smoking like there was no tommorrow. Instead, I fired up the laptop, plugged in the network, and came to SSC. Look at all those successes just from one little trip... I have enjoyed a couple of things. 1. Not spending money on posionous paper 2. Not having to stand out in the rain just to have a smoke 3. Not having to worry about how many cigs I have and when can I get to the store. 4. Not worrying about WHAT I SMELL LIKE 5. I especially enjoy not listening to my husband say, things like you are probably killing me with that smoking and you really should quit NOW I AM QUIT AND LOVING EACH DAY OF IT :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,410 Amount Saved: $280 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 23 Mins: 27 Seconds: 6
