TRY ! You lost 2 lbs ?!?! THAT'S FANTASTIC ! It takes time just like when you stopped smoking - One day at a time ! Often what happens, you'll lose a few pounds here, a pound there and then nothing for a week or two but if you stick to a plan (just like with the smoking quit) then it will, with time, lose the weight. I am so proud of you with all of those smoke free days under your belt and then -- 2 whole pounds GONE ! :) Stay optomistic hon, all things worth having will come to you ! I know how you feel. I gave up drinking 3 years ago in August - because I had to. Now I've given up smoking and gained some huge amount of wieght so am trying to give up eating. Just for the moment I have had to give up walking too! (Bunion ops on both feet) Makes you wonder what's left.... Tryagain, You hold your head up girl. If you lost 2 already, you are on your way and the scale is going the right direction! That's terrific! But don't you dare feel bad about yourself! There are so very many of us who have gained weight, probably 95%. So we are all there with you! So hold your head up, it will come off! And soon you will be slim and a non smoker too! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 107 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,675 Amount Saved: $1,128.85 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 2 Mins: 41 Seconds: 51

WOW good on YOU! I gained, get ready, it's a whopper, sitting down? 52 pounds! That's right 52 pounds. Sometimes I think this sacrifice is for nothing because quitting is a battle that I'm still fighting! Yet I have to fight both at once. I disgust myself. I'm a fat cow that cannot fit into any of my clothes. I've bought some really really cheap things just so I have something to wear. Three days ago I started on Alli which gave me an impetus to kick start my diet and I have lost 2 pounds so far. So, it's fighting the cravings, fighting the hungries, and generally limping through every day. Started to get a little worried there for almost a week... all it was is that I plateaued in my weight loss which is often normal. BUT then I weighed in and lost TWO MORE LBS ! Now my weigh in is - 15 lbs lost and 10 more to go ! I had some tough moments with incredible cravings but I did not cave! And with 'those' craves came some really intense craves for salt and sweets but I was able to treat myself just a few times. There have been some people who say that I can't possibly battle 2 things at one time, but so far so good. I look at it this way - If I am a non smoker and becoming healthier on one front I don't want to become UNhealthy on the other. If I was to do it over I NEVER would have replaced the nicotine with the crap I ate and would have chosen a much healthier approach. In the meantime I'm doing quite well and I'm not giving up on my quit nor my diet.. Sure it can be downright tough, but hey, it's ALL so worth it ! Hello Jean49, I had to take a step back when I read your last post. Those numbers and words are almost a quote from what I said to my wife a little more than a week ago, when I first found this post. I also was 10 pounds beyond where I should have been when I quit and stayed there without doing much of anything different for a little more than 2 months then the pounds found me. I went up another 15 pounds and it seemed like overnight. I started my exercise program like I said I would and I've lost 5 pounds thus far. My wife and I are now both nonsmokers (now that I've quit too) and we both are exercising and trying to be smarter about what we eat. Jean49, you are an inspiration to me!
