pete,
You really struck home with your post. I agree with Dunedad that we never know when our last day is... it could be tomorrow, it could be 50 years from now. When I first quit, I was actually ashamed of my age. As far as I knew, there weren't any quitters younger than me on this site (I was 28 at the time) and I felt kinda dumb for "trying" to quit so young. I felt like everybody else on this site lived it up until they were in their 40s or 50s and that I was kinda behind the times for quitting at such a young age... like I wasn't doing it right or something. Well, over the last 21 months, I've learned to be grateful for the opportunity to quit for once and for all at such a young age (although I'm not really young now... I'm 30), and that I may have the opportunity to live far longer because I am quitting NOW, instead of waiting another 15-20 years. So thank you Pete for your post. It really struck a chord with me tonight... and congrats on your 5 months. Way to go!
Crave the Quit!
Pam
