Hey Legend, you are doing fine, and you are experiencing what everyone else has at one point or another...and the 3rd & 4th weeks seem to hit hard for some. We have to deal with emotional triggers now...and habits associated with them. When the crave hits...stop and "think"....ok..auntdeb said, "look at the activity I am doing, the conversation I am having" what is this feeling...emotion...that I am experiencing: Anger hunger anxiety fear jealousy lust physical pain Fatigue hunger (omg, why is my tongue feeling fat and I'm salivating for a cig...oops...what time did I eat, have I eaten anything?) fatigue(am I too tired to really finish this project, and just need an extra boost of energy...that a smoke would have done in the past) anxiety(am I speaking with someone...that I want to tell exactly whats on my mind...but can't?) anger(have I been ask to do something...I don't want to?) When you recognize the emotion...for what it is...take a deep breath and then blow it away! Be nice now...but be a little more bold...you can you know. You are an adult, all grown up. Learn to say what you think and if it is not possible...take a deep breath and know that you don't need the lie of smoking anymore...you are having an emotion...nothing more! auntdeb have a nice smokeless day... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 83 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,175 Amount Saved: $394.25 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 11 Mins: 46 Seconds: 56

Legend, Don't worry, just take it one trigger at a time. Write them all down if it helps and start planning on how to tackle each one. Having a plan in place before you're actually in the situation makes it much easier to overcome. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Listen. I went through my hell week between my 3rd and 4th week. Tougher than week one. Then it really gets better. I got through that week with a lot of water, deep breathing, getting up and walking away from frustration and long walks / exercise. You gotta find something, something to get you mind off smoking. I think that is the tough part about what your going through, it's not the physical anymore, now it's the mental fight. Your fighting for you LIFE. I WILL NOT SMOKE TODAY AND NEITHER WILL YOU! Hi Legend, I was worried about the nice weather approaching too. As a matter of fact, I have not gotten into my hot tub because I always smoked in there. I think a few days of it and taking the bull by the horns is all it is going to take. The "firsts" are not as hard as we plan for them to be. Thanks, everyone. I just sat through that one, breathed, and got through it. My triggers are all relaxation triggers; I only smoked when I was relaxing, doing something I enjoy. I really, really am worried about when the weather gets better, because that's when I'll hit a bunch of triggers. It's one of the reasons I quit during the winter. Guess I'd better have the Juicy Fruit handy. Legend This will sound silly, but one thing you can do is carry around a stop watch...When you start to feel this way start the clock...You will find that the craves last about 4 minutes or so...However, if we are not mindful of the time we think it is much much longer...Remember "he who controls the time controls the mind"...Anyone who interrogates people will tell you that is true...always know how long you are in that circumstance, it will give you confidence as you realize that you can surely handle 4 minutes, what you can not handle is when your mind tells you the experience is never ending...IT WILL PASS... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,106 Amount Saved: $609 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 7 Mins: 18 Seconds: 9

Ride it like a wave, my friend... lean into it, lean to the right -or the left... Just ride it and it will pass as all waves do... You are doing beautifully! Just don't put power into a crave... tick tock, it will come to an end :) Blessings- Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 382 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13,396 Amount Saved: $1776.3 Life Gained: Days: 50 Hrs: 1 Mins: 16 Seconds: 19

Hey, how about 3 years! I quit for 3 and smoked for 2. I've been a nonsmoker now for 5 days and I wouldn't let that happen again. It seems like everything that has to do with 3's. 30 days, 60 days, ect...As people already advised, they go as soon as they come. Just remember it is that silly addiction thing. No pain, No gain! It does get easier though. My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,106 Amount Saved: $306.6 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 19 Mins: 46 Seconds: 16

Legend Let it pass quietly, you know it will...Try to remember what you where doing or thinking when it came about. This is a real mind bending addiction and we need to be mindful of those things that touch off these rather uncomfortable situations... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,105 Amount Saved: $609 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 7 Mins: 11 Seconds: 13
