haha, BS that's funny! I saw your post previously, but did not see the note on the bottom! I grew new fingernails thank you. And they are not a ghastly grey this time. Perky pink. Yeehaw. You should have seen my big 'ol Fred Flinstone toe. Too gross for description. as soon as I'd get a new nail, fall right back off!! Me & super-glue were buddies. Eeeeck. Hope noone else has that problem. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/10/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 731 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,630 Amount Saved: $4744.19 Life Gained: Days: 56 Hrs: 9 Mins: 47 Seconds: 44

Hey AG, funny you should mention the "fingernails falling off." Re-read my post to you on this thread. I mentioned that! LOL! I know this sounds weird, but that's honestly the first thing I think of when I think of you! That's like the long-term impression you've left on me. But you've left many other marks too... and I so remember you from the early days of my quit and the Century Club. I'm so happy for you for finally reaching 2 years! Way to go! Crave the Quit! Danielle, Thank you! I will make certain I celebrate in some way. 2Stubborn2smoke, That's fantastic that you can run 11k now! That is definate proof of your lungs rehabilitating, and how gratifying! Has your family noticed any changes since your quit? I too am not sick as often as I had been before. I noticed at one point in my quit that my fingernails were a funny pink. I beleive that was due to increased flow of oxygen in my bloodstream. Some of you oldies may remember my old post "Is anyones fingernails falling off?" haha. Glad noone answered in the affirmative! Liven well, laughen much, loven often! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/10/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 730 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,614 Amount Saved: $4737.7 Life Gained: Days: 56 Hrs: 8 Mins: 19 Seconds: 2

The only thing I have noticed since 6 months is my body's renewed ability to lose weight. My metabolism seems to have stabilized in the last few weeks. I also never have insomnia anymore, I can run 11k without stopping to catch my breath. I feel invigorated and alive. My skin has also improved in tone and texture and guess what, knock on wood, I have not been sick since I quit!! I used to get a cough at least every second month that lasted so long it extended right into the next bout of coughing! How silly we were to have smoked. The grass really IS greener on the other side of this addiction, and I am enjoying sitting on it!! Glad this oldish one got brought back. Wonder how you feel now Lookingglass? I have the same problem with finishing a sentence that you described and I still get out of breath going up and down stairs but now I'm putting it down to having gained a few hundred pounds.... Wonder about your reaction to reading that post from February.
