J you have the biggest incentive in the world to quit and cutting down is SO painful. Please just STOP! DJ: God bless you and your attempt. I have tried in the last two and a half years to quit so many times I've lost count. No one or no thing can tell you what to do until you are completely ready! I had my twin daughters crying to my face one time when I relit in front of them. I was tired of sneaking it and knew a day out with them I would have to fess up. Imagine looking at the faces of your seven years olds with tears in their eyes-aghast, did that make me quit- NO WAY. We each need to do it when we are ready, however way we choose and with God's help it is possible. I agree, being told the dangers, etc. will do nothing but make you think, THANKS for the support. I support you in YOUR decision to quit, when YOU are ready. Keep you chin up and don't feel bad about yourself. Smoking is a bad habit, it doesn't make us a bad person. Lots of hugs and support. DJ - I think you should call your OB today and find out a healthy taper for your smoking. How much were you smoking? I'm very sorry. If I would have continued reading, all would have calmed down inside of me............... I, again, put my foot in my mouth, and spoke way too soon!! Both DJ and Tutti(that's who my last post was directed too), please forgive my uninvited, bluntly burst of words...... I am rooting for you, and for everyone, to be smoke free! This freedom is the best thing felt, ever!! It will happen, just never give up! Whatever your test results are, just know that you DO have an aweful lot of caring friends here. Even if we blurt out stuff........ Just remember, we were/are all at the same starting point. One step at a time. One foot in front of the other. You will get there! Now now, just calm down everyone! Tutti, do not go telling people to lay off. If you post something, you need to expect different answers. Everyone offers support in their own way, some are just more tougher than others. I know of noone here with an arrogant, cocky attitude as you mention. Touchy subject this is. It mainly hits close to heart for many. We have, and some still are, going through the exact same thing. But you simply cannot expect people to not put their 2 cents in when it comes to smoking & pregnancy. Stating the obvious, in our own eyes could have possibly helped. It does not matter how much time is under the belt, this is true. However, we will always lead and we will always follow. We will most likely look up and ask for help from those we follow, and we give (and also receive) from those we lead. DJ, I know how difficult and emotional a quit is. I am quit, and I did it the same way you did. Though our lives are quite different, we both (and everyone else here) just want to remain smoke free. How we get there is up to us. I do hope everything works out for you. DJ, I know noone here meant to hurt you. Including me. I get real upset when people refer to smoking while pregnant "no big deal". If you truely believe that the only harm to your baby might be just a low birth weight, then go right ahead. But I have a feeling you know better. Whatever your doc says, you ought to trust. I certainly would trust mine. They know your medical history. There is no harm in second opinions, right? And finding 2 doctors with the same answer will be hard to find. If you read your original post, you will see how opinions will and should differ. Your title "I smoked last night!" could go either way. Either you just smoked one, or a lot. But, when you say you set your quit date to March 10th, that means you gave up on your quit, and went back to smoking. Whether it be 5 cigs, or a pack - you are smoking. I think that is why your posts ended up the way they did. I personally do not know of anyone here that posted to you that would purposely try to hurt you, or demean you. You might, or might not be pregnant, and you smoke. Life goes on, but please don't just disregard what others are saying. We were just trying to get you to not give up on yourself, a

OMG people..... Look at what you've written! It is NOT okay, in ANY circumstance to smoke while you are pregnant. I'm sorry DJ, but you are just making up excuses to continue your few cigs. Unless it is detrimental to BOTH lives, no doctor should authorize, let alone say, that you should not quit because it could cause stress on the baby -- that is a load of sh**. You know what causes stress on a baby???? Being premature, low birth weight, in the NICU fighting for its life, fighting to make it to the next hour, all because you rationed with yourself that it is okay to smoke?? Now lets ALL face it, those of us who smoked while pregnant, WE GOT LUCKY. That's it. LUCK. Don't play russian roulette with an innocent life. If your baby could talk in the womb, it would ask you why are you poisioning him. And you are poisoning him. You are also causing this baby, when it is born, to go through HELL WEEK!! Do you remember? I apologize for being so harsh, but if this saves another life, then it is worth it. Flush those cigs down the toilet. Do a google search, just like Katy said. You ARE stronger than this addiction!! Just believe in yourself. All you have to is not light that next one. Come here. We will be by your side! We will hold your hand, and walk WITH you down this journey. Give us a chance, give yourself a chance, and most importantly, give your baby a chance.......... 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 361 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,858 Amount Saved: $1180.47 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 2 Mins: 58 Seconds: 23

Dj, Good luck in your quit. everyone needs to quit in there own way. keep pushing yourself. it will be the best thing you could ever do for you. Don't fret to much about smoking with your last child. My parents smoked my whole life, and thank God. it stunted my growth. I'm 6'2" 235lbs. Just think how big I would be if they had quit? :) We all know smoking is very bad for us. But I also believe Dr's like to blame a little to much on smoking. I'm still waiting for all my other small health problems to clear up since I quit almost 2 years ago. (Dr quack said it's because I smoke/ smoked)I guess it must now be that 2nd hand smoke I smelt in the bar last week! :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/24/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 708 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,173 Amount Saved: $2655 Life Gained: Days: 109 Hrs: 17 Mins: 28 Seconds: 35
