Martha/Sandra, Thank you so much. I needed to read those scriptures. Perhaps it is somekind of depression...maybe I am stressed out from being ill lately. I'm not sure what it is. Sort of a scared panic feeling. God bless for thinking of me. My jaw is still droped over your stats. ;p Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,238 Amount Saved: $272.67 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 0 Mins: 41 Seconds: 32

mercy, When I read your post about obsession and cancer, these verses came to mind. I'm sure they are written on your heart but sometimes we need little reminders :) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phillipians 4:6-7) and But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23a) I know you know but obsessing ain't from God ;) If going to your doctor will put your mind at ease, please do but you are in hands much bigger than your doctor's either way. Thanks Mercy. I have been on weight watchers for 7 weeks now and I'm doing really good, I've lost 12.2 pounds. I'm eating good, exercising and I feel great. I've never been so motivated! But the weird thing is I get that motivation about quitting smoking for only a few days and then it's completely gone. But my motivation to lose weight has been very consistent. I know I need to come up with a plan but when I sit down to try to think I draw a blank. This is defiantly a determined demon that's for sure! : ) :)
: Never lose sight of the fact... that God can take all things and work it for HIS good. Remember the Bible Burnings? You know what happened right after that? the printing press was invented and produced thousands of Bibles! Convicted, Hi!! Forget the quilt. It isn't about what you've done....it's about what your gonna do with it. oh Convicted... I have been where you are so many times. I'm not talking 2...3....4....or even 5 times. I'm talking lots and lots of times. I've lost count...but even if I could remember the number.. I more than likely would be too embarresed to post it. In retrospect I see now, that though I was so down on myself, I wouldn't be in this quit...with this many days behind me, if it wasn't for those failures. Those failures are my diamonds in the rough. Seriously. I know that many quit and succeed first time. I wish all could be like that. Fact is, I bet in honesty, most of this board has quit several times. I couldn't drive and not smoke! One of those quits (who knows which one) I learned to drive and not smoke. Yes.... I failed at the quit...but I didn't take up smoking in my car again. So the next quit it was one less thing/trigger to have to contend with. Then another quit that I failed at I decided to not go back to smoking at work. Many, many months went by smoking again, but I didn't smoke at work. I tried again to quit.... and now had one less obstacle to handle. Yet another time that I had tried to quit I didn't bring my cigarettes on my walks in the woods. So, though I failed yet again....my walks in the woods weren't a trigger. So.. what I am trying to say is, that for many it is a process, if you use that failure in a positive way. Please hang in there. If I get time... I will write another post I have in mind. You are indeed in my prayers. I do pray for the people on this board. Never lose sight of the fact... that God can take all things and work it for HIS good. LOOKING AHEAD All of us have something in our past we regret doing. (like smoking) It may have been an honest mistake, a moral failure, or a foolish decision (like smoking). We wished we hadn't made that choice and it often drags us down. While the past remains part of our lives, it doesn't have to determine our future. With God's wisdom, quidence and strength we can focus on the task at hand (like quiting smoking) and the future with hope. Mercy "better to look ahead and prepare than to look back with despair."
